Memorial Day / Collection Service Schedule

All Township of Morris non-emergency offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024 in observance of Memorial Day. The Department of Public Works (DPW) will be closed, and no collection services will take place.

Yardwaste Collection

1. Curbside pickup of grass clippings, leaves, plant waste, and light brush takes place on the scheduled Saturday dates listed beginning in April and ending in Sept. Please review the street listing to find out your zone and scheduled collection dates. 

2. Place in 32 gallon standard garbage cans with lid and handles

3. Grass clippings, leaves, plant waste, and light brush can be mixed together during this period. Light brush should be tied with string in bundles no longer than 4 ft., or placed in 32 gallon standard garbage cans cut to the height of the garbage can. 

4. Fifty(50) pound limit per can or bundle

5. NO DIRT, LOGS, ROOTS, OR STUMPS. NO PLASTIC BAGS

6. RESIDENTS ONLY (no contractors) may bring grass clipping and light brush to the Department of Public Works located on Jane Way off West Hanover Avenue during business hours, Monday thru Saturday, 6 AM to 1:45 PM.

Property tax payments may be made by mail (see mailing address below), online, or in the drop box located outside the front door(after hours) & middle entrance(when open, 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM) of the Municipal Building, 50 Woodland Avenue.

Coffee with the Mayor

Join Morris Township Mayor Donna Guariglia for Coffee and Conversing. Coffee with the Mayor provides residents with an opportunity to informally discuss items of interest for the community.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

-Contract to Bright View Engineering for crosswalk study for Woodland Avenue. Brightview will do pedestrian counts, vehicle counts, crash analysis and provide recommendations for crosswalks.

-Contract to Cartography Consulting for surveying services for purpose of constructing new trails at ValleVue Preserve. The survey will assist in establishing the fence line between properties to establish hiking trails.

-Contract to Midwest Construction Company for Reconstruction of Overlook Road. Reconstruction for new road pavement and drainage.

-Contract to First Due for Fire Department software and maintenance. Tracking of day-to-day operation of Fire Department activities.

Emergency Call Boxes / MTFD

We have installed call boxes on each of our fire houses to provide public safety and instant communications with one button connecting you with 9-1-1. 


The call boxes have a blue light above them (as pictured). Call boxes are to be used for emergencies, and are not for access to the fire house, etc. Please share this information with your neighbors, community groups, and your children.

Annual Town Wide Garage Sale

Memorial Day Service

When: Monday, May 27, 2024



Residents are invited to join us to visit local memorials and lay wreaths with the Memorial and Veterans Day Association of Morristown and Morris Township. Beginning at 7:30 AM at our Municipal Building. Transportation will be provided and refreshments will be served.


Our annual Township service will begin at 10 AM in front of the Municipal Building, 50 Woodland Ave, followed by the annual parade to the Green at 10:30 AM & service on the Morristown Green at 11 AM

All lifeguards that work for Morris Township Pools will receive a 50% refund for course pricing at the end of the 2024 season.
