To the friends and family of Metaphrasis,
Happy Holidays! This past year has been a special one; while precautions around the global pandemic slowly decreased over time, we were able to meet once again with our friends and loved ones. We were able to express joy and gratitude, amidst feelings of grief for the loved ones we’ve lost since March 2020.
As the year comes to an end, and families all over the world gather to celebrate the holidays, we encourage you to slow down and take a deep breath. It can be easy to miss all of your achievements and successes of the past year; make time for yourself to reflect on all you’ve done. The highs and lows, the good and bad, they all contribute to our growth as individuals.
This is also a great time to set new goals for the New Year. The holiday season, for so many, feels like both an end and a beginning. It certainly feels that way for me! I am prepared to ring in the New Year equipped with all my experiences from 2022, ready to make new memories, celebrate new accomplishments, and hold space for unexpected challenges in 2023.
Over here at Metaphrasis, we have been working hard to serve our community, and our achievements definitely show it. I wanted to take a moment to share with you our end of year report. We truly have you to thank for our successes. Without the support of our clients and interpreters, we would not be here. Thank you!

Our team spent thousands of hours interpreting for clients.

We’ve interpreted in almost 50 different languages. From Spanish to Mongolian, from one dialect to the next, we are proud to have had interpreters for languages that span across the globe! We've even interpreted some rare languages such as Taishanese and Haka Chin.
- We've spent countless hours translating a variety of documents from legal to medical, human resources and education. Our translators have made a national impact with the work they performed this year.
- We have added many new languages and interpreters to our roster.

Our amazing Metaphrasis team secured 100% of our 2022-23 renewal contract agreements and collaborated with over 50 new clients.
- We've successfully renewed the following certifications:
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
- National Women's Business Enterprise (WBE)
- Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB)
- Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE)
- This year, we also made sure to give back to organizations making a difference in the community including Love First, Humboldt Park Health, and the Puerto Rican Arts Museum, North Shore Foundation, Niles West Highschool Orchestra, Autism Hero Project.
- We continue to be proud members of the American Translators Association, Association of Language Companies (ALC), National Counsil of Interpreters in Health Care (NCIHC), and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).
These accomplishments would mean nothing if we did not have the backing of so many amazing interpreters, translators, language experts, and amazing clients behind us.
