Happy New Year!
Welcome to our Telehealth Partners

In an effort to provide better communication to our member sites, we are developing this quarterly email update to keep you informed and help you find resources you can use to improve your practices. We encourage feedback on how UTN can improve services and communicate technology updates more effectively.

UTN is excited to announce a new page on our website that provides information on telehealth-related legislation in Utah. The page includes links to the bills and guiding documents. It also provides information on standards of practice for healthcare professionals, payer policies, telehealth and telemedicine billing and reimbursement, and COVID-19 pandemic-related waivers and temporary changes.
Network Services
UTN is looking forward to completing the network refresh we started in 2022, bringing every site on the network up to a minimum 1 Gbps symmetrical network connection and a next-generation firewall. We appreciate your support and look forward to working with you in 2023.

UTN has been testing StarLink’s satellite-based internet service as a viable option for network redundancy. UTN is currently testing this solution at Kane County Hospital in Kanab and believe this could be a long-term solution for areas with only one option for a telecommunication service provider. More updates will be provided as we continue to test the capacity and effectiveness of the system.
Security Services
Vulnerability Office Hours: Did you know that UETN hosts weekly office hours on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to noon to assist IT professionals at member sites. Staff will help with reviewing and assessing current vulnerabilities and will be able to engage with our security team to mitigate and resolve problems.

If you are interested in joining the office hours, please reach out for more information and we will provide you with the Webex link to join.
Member Services
UTN has been hosting demos of the Zipnosis asynchronous telemedicine platform for our member sites. If you missed the virtual meetings or would like to watch a recording of a previous meeting, please let us know.
What makes the Zipnosis solution unique?

  • Automates low acuity visits to 89 seconds of provider work time.

  • Increases capacity by 57% when a physician uses Zipnosis just 15 minutes a day.

  • Drives additional revenue, $64k per provider or higher, while creating time for patients that need it.

  • Patients love the experience and consistently say they wish they could use the platform with their trusted providers.

  • More than 6,000 patients rate the experience 5 stars.
