FALCON FAMILY REMINDERS:

Mrs. Mrs. Nancy Kuzniar came to talk to and show 6th grade some Egyptian Artifacts. The collection consisted of a mummified bird with the outer wrappings removed, scarabs, one bronze statue, ushabtis, an ankh and other small items. The students enjoyed looking at the artifacts and trying to identify the two fake artifacts that were in the collection.  

The SFX 6th grade hosted the SPRED mass & reception last Sunday at 5pm. This was the first SPRED mass at SFX since 2019 and our friends were very excited to participate with us again! Thank you to all the participants and to Mrs. Katie McCarthy for being the Sacristan of the Mass.

FALCON ATHLETICS

Last Week's Recap

All 8 of our boys basketball teams (6th - 8th Grade A/B and 5th Grade White/Blue) competed well in the Saint's Peter and Paul Trojan Classic in Naperville over the past two weeks. The 5th Grade Boys White Basketball team won 3 games over two weekends to take home the 5th Grade Championship! Congratulations to all of our Falcons who competed!

Thank you to all the Junior Falcons who came out to cheer on the Falcon boys basketball teams on Tuesday. It was a huge success and we're looking forward to more Junior Falcon events in 2023!

Upcoming Events:

The 6th - 8th grade boys basketball teams will face off with St. Isaac Jogues on Thursday 12/15/22 @ SFX - 6A @5:00PM, 7A @5:45PM & 8A @6:30PM.  Come out to cheer on your Falcons and enjoy a slice of pizza in concessions while it lasts!  

The 7B boys basketball team will meet Visitation Gold on Saturday 12/17/22 @ SFX at 9:45AM - fresh Donuts have become a Saturday morning staple in SFX Concessions!!!

Our 2022 home schedule will wrap up on Tuesday 12/20/22 with the 6th - 8th grade boys basketball teams battling Visitation - 6A @4:45PM, 7A @5:30PM and 8A @6:15PM. Concessions TBD...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from SFX Athletics!!

Some of the first graders went to LT this weekend to watch Ms. Navolio coach her basketball team. After the game they met the team and matched up with their pen pal. Over the last few years, first graders have exchanged Christmas cards with players. It was fun for them to meet each other in person!

SFX Cub Scout Pack 33 held their annual Cake Bake on December 5. Fr. Rich and Miss Lisa were our celebrity judges! Scouts also packed 30 birthday kits—gift bags filled with decorations, cards and cake baking supplies—to donate to the SFX Food Pantry.  If you would like more info about scouting, please contact Maria Onesto Moran.

SPRING MUSICAL STAGE CREW SIGN-UP!

A few more 7th and 8th grade students are needed for backstage crew for the 2023 spring musical! It’s a really fun experience for kids who don’t want to be on stage, but still want to be a part of the action. 

We will be ordering cast and crew t-shirts very soon with everyone's names on the back. We don't want to miss anyone! So please sign up soon!
