All-parish Meeting Sunday, April 28th

On Sunday, April 28th, we will have one service at 9:00 am followed by an all-parish meeting with Canon Dena Cleaver-Bartholomew. Canon Dena will lead us in a Congregational Conversation. This meeting is the second transition workshop.

At this meeting, we will all have the opportunity to respond to questions on the Office of Transition Ministry Profile that will be posted on the Episcopal Church database for clergy seeking new positions. All data gathered will be given to the Trinity profile team to develop the final answers on behalf of the congregation.

It is essential for all of us to participate in order to create an accurate understanding of where the people of Trinity have been, where we are now, and where we are called to grow as God’s people in Cranston. The process takes about two hours and brunch will be served. We will have childcare if you need it.

Trinity’s profile and search teams

Here are the profile and search teams, as approved by the vestry. The profile team consolidates our responses to create the document that is shared with clergy seeking positions. The search team receives, evaluates and interviews candidates with the goal of presenting to the vestry the right priest for Trinity Church.

Rob Duncanson .........Bruce Beattie

Kelley Elderkin .........Nancy Dorsey

Donna Blue-Tobin ......Katie Duncanson

Amy Umstadter ........ Eugenia Silva

Food, Food, Food

Please bring food for the brunch. Everyone make your specialty and I’ll make mine – which is shopping for something tasty.

We are well on our way, with the assistance of Canon Dena and Mother Susan, to launching the search process. We are on almost the identical trajectory of the 2022 search, the big difference being we have an interim priest-in-charge to care for us spiritually as we wrestle with everything else. Mother Susan’s constant presence is a gift, and we are fortunate to have an experienced priest walking the way with us.

See you on Sunday. Please stay for the meeting and lend your voice and your answers to some very important questions about Trinity Church.

Last Sunday's Sermon

By Mother Susan

Today is Good Shepherd Sunday. Jesus as shepherd is an ancient and enduring image in the gospel of John. It is a foundational image for our life of faith. And so, every year on the fourth Sunday of Easter we hear a portion of chapter 10 in John’s gospel which develops this image fully.
