He came to a world which did not mesh,
to heal its tangles, shield its scorn.
In the mystery of the Word made Flesh
the Maker of the stars was born.

Advent Party Gratitude
Friends-

This was my first-ever Advent Party here at South Church and it did NOT disappoint!

I loved every part of it--the fire pit, hot beverages and Christmas tree lighting outside; the creative and beautiful craft projects; the music of the Mediocre Ensemble; the community, conversation, fun and of course, the FOOD!!!

Thank you to everyone who made this event so beautiful and so memorable - most especially, to Peter Brenner and Laura Giannone who provided leadership and oversight with grace.

May this Advent be a time of hope, peace, joy and love for all, and may this Christmas be filled with the spirit of community and generosity so present during this event.

In gratitude,
Margery Rossi, Minister

Supporting Good Work in Bethlehem
"When I visited Israel-Palestine last month, our pilgrimage group worshipped with the Baraka Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem. This small but mighty congregation is working hard to serve their community by providing daycare and other outreach services to their neighbors. They hope to expand the daycare to include a nursery school, build a playground and turn their grounds into a public park in order to meet huge needs in their community. You can help! Throughout Advent, we will be selling olive wood products made by artisans in Bethlehem. Proceeds will be sent to the Baraka Presbyterian Church. Thank you for extending friendship and support to our Presbyterian friends in Bethlehem." - Minster Margery Rossi
