Summer Program Grants Now Available!

SLA is offering 15 grants of up to $300 each for member libraries to offer summer programs for children and teens between July 1 and August 31, 2023.


Preference will be given to applications that demonstrate commitment to a number of key areas, including literacy, diversity and inclusion, and creating community and social connections.


The application deadline is May 5, 2023.

Call for Conference Volunteers


Are you attending the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference in Saskatoon from May 3-5? Are you open to volunteering an hour or two of your time while there? Then we want to hear from you!


SLA's Conference Planning Committee is still seeking several volunteers to fill a variety of roles, including:

  • at the registration desk (taking one two-hour slot to help people check in and answer any questions)
  • session convenor (introducing a session and presenter with an introduction written for you, and thanking the presenter at the end of their presentation)
  • IT assistants (able to help presenters as needed to get their presentations up and running on provided laptops; troubleshoot if problems arise)


If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the SLA office at info@saskla.ca with the roles in which you are interested.

2023 SLA AGM Information


SLA's 2023 Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 4 from 8:15am to 9:15am at the Saskatoon Inn in Saskatchewan Room B during the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference.


SLA members do not have to be registered for the conference to attend the AGM.


Any member is welcome to submit a written resolution prior to the AGM. Click here for more information about the resolution guidelines and to access the resolution form.

CFLA Seeking Committee Chair


CFLA is inviting applications for the position of Chair for its Climate Action Committee. The Climate Action Committee is CFLA's newest strategic committee, which has a mandate to explore issues related to the climate crisis as they pertain to Canadian libraries.


The application deadline is April 30, 2023.
