Congratulations to Our Communicants

On Sunday morning, we have the privilege of welcoming a group of young people who have completed the communicants class and therefore are moving from being non-communing members to full-communing members of the church.

As we desire to honor parents in their role as primary disciple-makers and the elders’ role in shepherding, assessing, and admitting these same children into membership, the communicant, his/her parents, and their family’s elder work together throughout an 8-month long process of study. The students examine questions like; Who is God? What does it mean to be a Christian? What is the church? What does it mean to be a church member? They then take a 4-week class taught by our pastors, staff and elders, and after a final interview with their elder, they are ready to join the church. So, as you see these young people joining the church today, congratulate and welcome them! They have worked very hard!

Monthly Prayer for our Nation

Sunday, April 28

All are invited to join us once a month for a time of prayer focused on our nation. Throughout Scripture, we read of God’s people calling out to him for help, guidance, and direction for its leaders and land. In this election year it seems right to gather, not for politics, but prayer. Would you join us on Sunday, April 28, from 5:00 pm – 5:40 pm, in the youth center/lower Community Life Center, as we gather to call on God’s name?

Men's Fellowship Breakfast

Saturday, May 4

All men and sons ages 12 years and older are invited to the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast on Saturday, May 4, from 8:00 am – 9:00 am, in the Community Life Center. A buffet breakfast will be served followed by a speaker and then table discussion. Please bring $10 in either cash or check to help with the cost of the breakfast buffet. If you have any questions, please email Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org.

Let us know you are coming by RSVPing by clicking here. Please RSVP by Friday, April 26.

Ascension Concert

Sunday Evening, May 5

On Sunday evening, May 5, at 6:00 pm, it will be our joy to honor Jesus Christ as the ascended King and to give thanks for the gift of the Spirit. We hope everyone will invite a friend and then join us for an evening of praise and worship, sacred music, spirituals, and more.

O Night

Tuesday, May 7

Everyone is invited to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month for Christ Covenant Outreach Nights, called O Nights. Our next one is Tuesday, May 7, from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. We will meet in the south lobby of the worship center. We will have some time of training to equip our people, and then we will go out in groups into the community to do surveys and to share the gospel. If you do not feel comfortable walking, we would love for you to participate by praying on our campus. Please bring your small group, family, etc. and join us! If you have any questions, contact Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org.

Set Free Men's Open Session to start in May

Set Free is Christ Covenant's ministry to men who want to break their addiction to porn. Starting in May we will launch an open session using the Conquer Series (www.conquerseries.com). We encourage all men who are struggling with porn to begin their recovery by sending a confidential email to setfree@christcovenant.org to get more information.

Can You Help A New Afghan Family in Need?

A new Afghan family has arrived in our area and is in need of our help. This family is a dad, mom, and three young girls ages 5, 7 and 10, who crossed the Mexican border just a few weeks ago. After they crossed the Mexican border, they were placed in a homeless shelter in San Diego, California. The Afghan family is currently in Rock Hill, South Carolina with a family that attends Wesminster PCA.

The dad worked with the United States military for 17 years interpreting and supporting our troops. A sister PCA church is providing housing for this family. We have been asked to help with their food needs by providing Wal-Mart gift cards. If you would like to and are able to help, please place your Wal-Mart gift card in the secure black mailbox at the Outreach and Mission house or hand them to Amy VanDusen. If you have any questions, please contact Amy at avandusen@christcovenant.org

Children's Sunday School Spotlight

During Sunday School this morning, all our children from two years-old to fifth grade are learning about the walls of Jericho from The Biggest Story Bible Storybook curriculum, from the lesson “The Walls Came Tumbling Down” in Joshua 6. If you sit near a family with young children, please take a moment to ask the children to share what they learned in Sunday School with you!
