Weekly Newsletter 12/02/2022

Dear Parents,

In the blink of an eye we say goodbye to November and begin our December holiday festivities. There is so much going on at Kids For Kids in December. Our students have started making holiday crafts that I know you will love!

--Our Angel Tree display is up...If you wish to share your heart with a child from our school, feel free to pick up a tag representing a child or drop off a Walmart or Target gift card and we will let the families shop for gifts. We can also bill your Brightwheel and shop for you. All UNWRAPPED gifts or gift cards due December 21st. Thank you for your kindness in helping with this project.

--Mark your Calendar:

12/21 Our VPK and K-2 Kids will be Caroling. 11:00 for VPK and 11:30 for K/1. Parents are invited to watch this on or campus. We will also video tape it and send out the link.

12/21 Santa himself will be at our school to take photos and give out gifts to all kids. Siblings are also invited to come and take a photos. He will be here from 7:30-9:00 so set your clock!

--We are closed December 26 - January 2 and will reopen on the January 3rd. January 3-6 is non instructional for VPK and K/1. There will be a sign up sheet if you will be keeping your child home so we don't cook too many extra meals that week.

Many parents have already started looking for suggestions for holiday gifts of gratitude for staff. Our staff is grateful for any kindness that comes their way. If you would like to give a gift card so they can pick out their favorite things, I will be posting a list of staff names and their 2 favorite gift cards. I hope that will be helpful...Feel free to use your imagination though!

This week our VPK kids had their first Hands on Science experience in our science lab. Until now, they have been attending to do free exploration activities while they get used to the routine. On Thursday I got great joy out of teaching our little scientists. The learned about tools scientist use. They practiced using a pipette (dropper) to put water into test tubes. They also learned about a hand lens and that it is used to magnify things.

All of our students also loved the music class with Miss Clarice. We are so proud of all our enrichments at Kids For Kids.

Finally, as I am talking about enrichments, our students are loving the Karate Program as well and the FREE weekly Turtle Dance Class. I have been taking little video clips. Click here to see clips from the first few classes. The kids are still getting used to it and each week it is better and better!
