ICYMI: VIAVI expands U.S. manufacturing capacity and boosts Arizona economy with opening of new optical production facility

VIAVI Solutions Inc. held a grand opening in Chandler on November 10 to mark the completion of its new production facility and global headquarters. The plant's opening is a boon for the local economy, representing an initial capital infusion of nearly $100 million, with a further $50 million expected to be generated in payroll taxes for local and state governments following the creation of hundreds of new jobs.
VIAVI is a global leader in network test, monitoring, and assurance solutions for communications service providers, enterprises, network equipment manufacturers, government, and avionics. The company is also a leader in light management technologies for 3D sensing, anti-counterfeiting, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, and defense applications. VIAVI generated $1.3 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2022 and has more than 3,600 employees in 50 locations throughout North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific/Japan/China.

Brightside, the leading financial care platform for employers, recently announced it has raised $33 million in Series B funding. Bringing the company’s total funding to over $75 million, this investment will support Brightside’s continued rapid growth and platform enhancements, including additional AI-driven capabilities.
Brightside is on a mission to help employers improve the financial health of their workforce, thereby improving employee productivity and wellbeing and supporting businesses’ short and long-term growth. The company's platform provides a single destination for employees and their families to address any personal finance need with unbiased, individualized, hands-on support. Currently supporting over 300,000 families, Brightside serves leading Fortune 500 employers with frontline workers in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare.
Brightside grew its 2021 revenues by approximately 800% last year and is on track to grow nearly 10x in 2022. In addition, the company’s headcount has grown over 150% this year to more than 175 team members. With plans to hire 200 more employees in the coming year, Brightside is focused on expanding its footprint in Chandler, where it is hiring in areas such as engineering, software development, IT operations, and client services.

Bestway USA holds ribbon cutting event for U.S. headquarters facility in Chandler

Bestway USA held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Nov. 18 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its new U.S. headquarters facility in Chandler. The company-owned, 129,000-square-foot facility is located at the southeast corner of McQueen and Queen Creek roads and includes a showroom for its inflatable and outdoor leisure products (e.g., above-ground pools, air mattresses, camping equipment, and water sports equipment) along with office and warehouse space.
Bestway currently has 95 full-time employees in Chandler with plans to grow to approximately 150 employees within three years.
