A Message From. Our Founder

Happy December Everyone! I love the Christmas/Holiday Season. I have since I was a very young girl. Even with all the “hustle and bustle” that tends to happen this time of year…the waiting in long lines, the traffic, the angry folks “fighting” over parking spots, etc., I still genuinely, love this time of year. 

Yesterday, my sister and I were in a store…waiting in a VERY long line and we found ourselves having a conversation with a lovely young woman that we did not know, and we were talking about this exact thing, how “nutty” and yet wonderful, the holidays can be. 

I’d say for the last five years or so, when I am getting ready to “head out” into the madness, I find myself deciding ahead of time, that I won’t let the “crazy” part of the holidays rob me of my joy. “Just Breathe” I sat to myself. I decide ahead of time that I WILL have to wait a little longer, there WILL be more traffic and most likely there WILL be people fighting over parking spots, so I just find a space in the “outer limits” of the parking lot and walk a little farther. It’s all good!

I really do love Christmas. The decorations, the lights, shopping for family and friends, my office becoming a depository of all the gifts, wrapping paper, boxes ( it is a mess)…and yes, MUSIC. perhaps it is the little kid inside of me wanting to somehow “relive” a simpler place and time, I don’t know and I have decided that I don’t have to know. I just want to enjoy the moments of it all. 

I hope that all of us can find moments of peace and joy this holiday!

Donate!

We like to be involved in the giving side of things so we always do One Warm Coat. 

If you have been around here for at least a year, you will remember seeing the big box we put out to collect gently worn coats, sweaters, and blankets. We then donate them to a local shelter. 

We will be collecting Canned food and also “dry” things like peanut butter, tuna, etc…things that will not go bad. We will then donate to families in need. You will see the boxes for this in both FMAA locations.

Once a month we have been interviewing one of our talented students and recording their progress for friends and family!

Meet Logan, who is learning guitar with Harley G. and is quite a talented musician, even with his recent injury!

Lessons With Lyric - Ashely Avila

Lessons With Lyric is a new series where our art instructor (Lyric Gianni) takes lessons with every teacher at Fresno Music Academy to show prospective students that learning something new doesn't have to be scary! Tune in monthly to meet our instructors and watch Lyric learn new musical skills! This month's episode features Ashley Avila, she teaches Voice and Piano!

Drum Set Winner!

Similar to Music Fun Time, this program weaves together both process and product in a curriculum while integrating all the fundamentals of art including line, color, shape, pattern & texture. We will also Master Artists once a month in our preschool curriculum Art FUNdamentals!
