Meet Maria
Meet Maria!
My Name is Maria, I was born and raised in Rexburg Idaho. I’m 25 years old, I currently have 8 animals, I’m a lover of all animals! I have been married for 2 years, with my spouse for nearly 5 years. I love to eat anything Hispanic. I love being outside in nature, it’s my favorite pastime time. I’ve been on the search for my church for a very long time now and very happy that I’ve finally found it!
Kindest regards,
Maria Ornelas Quezada

Meet the Miners
Meet the Miner Family!
Hello, New Day family! We are the Miners, and we're thrilled to be joining you.
I'm Sheean, your friendly neighborhood East Idaho native, born and raised right here. My wonderful wife, Elizabeth, hails from the peachy state of Georgia but has journeyed far and wide before landing in Idaho. Our paths crossed in 2006, but we were too wrapped up in our teenage stubbornness to see the magic. Fast forward a few years (okay, many years), and we finally wised up, started dating, and tied the knot in 2019. Then, in 2023, our little sweet potato, Lillian, joined the adventure!
Now, let me confess: I'm a nerd. I revel in D&D, video games, reading, and binge-watching LOTR and zombie flicks. Elizabeth, on the other hand, has her own nerdy quirks. She’s a pro at BUNCO and other tabletop games, loves hitting up concerts, braves white water rafting, and enjoys nature walks. We both cherish the great outdoors but prefer to retreat to a cozy hotel room come nightfall. Traveling is our jam, and trying new things keeps us on our toes.
Lillian, our tiny whirlwind, loves building (and promptly demolishing) block towers, running around like a tornado, and accessorizing with hats, sunglasses, and anything necklace-like.
As for the daily grind, I'm hitting the books to become an ELCA Lutheran Pastor while mastering the art of being a Stay-at-Home Dad when Lillian isn’t busy at daycare. Elizabeth is a superhero in her own right, working as a Crisis Interventionist at local hospitals. She's also the only Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist in Idaho Falls and one of two in Eastern Idaho, sharing her expertise at Woodhouse Counseling. Elizabeth always says, "The hospital pays the bills, but Woodhouse feeds my soul."
Lillian, our future trailblazer, is hard at work at daycare, mastering all the essential skills a 17-month-old needs.
We can't wait to embark on this new journey with New Day and look forward to forging wonderful relationships with our new church family!

The US hasn't designated August as a month for awareness of a specific group of individuals, so I thought we might remember those in our congregation or community. If there's someone that you haven't connected with in some time and they cross your mind, I would like to encourage you to call or visit them or even drop a note in the mail. Let's make a difference in the lives of those around us as we remember that we're all connected to one another.
