JANUARY 2023
Happy new year, organizing clients and friends!
I hope this finds you well.
Since starting my home organizing business in 2017, I've worked in 287 homes, billed 3,660 hours, and am proud to have 74 five-star reviews on Google. I *sincerely* appreciate your support. It is a privilege to be welcomed into your homes. Thank you!

Quick updates:

I'm taking new clients again, finally! Thank you for your patience.

I'm booking for February, but if you need an earlier date, I do keep a waitlist and can text you if I get a last-minute cancellation.

Ready to roll? New clients, please schedule a (free) 20-minute phone consult here. We can chat about your projects and decide if we're a good fit to work together. Returning clients, text me at 206-932-2939 and we'll get you booked!

2023 fees: New clients, a flat fee of $125 per hour. Returning clients, the same honor-system, sliding-scale fee structure as you had in 2021 and 2022.
FAQ: "How long will it take to organize my home?"

This is a question new clients frequently ask. The ballpark answer is that we can complete one room per session. Below are 'before & after' photos from two different clients' homes as examples.

(The more nuanced answer is: it depends. I bill by the hour versus by the project for two reasons. First, the density of items in each space -- bag, box, drawer, cupboard, closet, room -- varies wildly, and each item represents a decision for the client. Second, I work *fast* however different clients need different amounts of time to decide what to keep and what to let go of, and I never want to rush their process.)
Kitchen 'before & after' in one 4.5-hour session
This client wanted to maximize open counter space for dining and cooking in her kitchen and to streamline the functionality of the space.

First, we decluttered the kitchen cupboards and drawers to create more storage space. By reviewing each category of items (such as mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, pans, utensils, baking supplies, pantry items, spices, etc.) the client could see duplicates and unused items, choose her favorites, and donate the rest.

Next, we organized the storage spaces according to the client's traffic patterns of high and low usage. This way, frequently-used items are grouped together and easy to access (like the coffee station on the counter), and infrequently-used items are stored in less accessible places (like vases in a top cupboard).

Finally, I added labels on the inside of each drawer and cupboard to designate specific homes for each item or category of items.

Included in my service is taking one carload per session of clients' donations and tricky-to-recycle items for them, including delivering unopened food items to the West Seattle Food Bank.

Also included in my service is a detailed follow-up email with links to the resources specific to the space and project. For this kitchen, my follow-up email included referrals to a local handyman and hauling service, homework assignments requested by the client, and links to fifteen kitchen products the client wanted to add or upgrade, including cutting boards, dish rack, tea towels, baking pans, drawer dividers, and shelves and bins for a pantry.
Bedroom 'before & after' in one 4.25-hour session
This client wanted her bedroom to be a peaceful, calm refuge. She also wanted to easily find and access her clothes.

First, we sorted her clothes into different categories: in-season current items, out-of-season items, and pieces to donate, sell online, or have repaired. Then we sorted her in-season current items by type, such as professional attire to hang up, then workout gear, pajamas, shirts, trousers, and lingerie to fold and store in the bureau drawers.

Next, we made the bed with fresh linens and wrestled the cover onto the duvet. While the client was making decisions about clothes, I deep-cleaned her bedside table, floor, and bureau top.

Finally, I decluttered and then styled the top of the bureau to show off her lovely aesthetic.

Included in my service for this client was taking a carload of her clothing donations to Goodwill and sending her a follow-up email with homework and resources we talked about, such as under-bed storage bins for her out-of-season clothes and shoes.
