News From the Environmental Committee

Thanks to your efforts, 400 lbs of Christmas Lights won't end up in a landfill!


You did your part in making the world a greener place to live in for this generation and the generations to come. We plan to continue these recycling efforts in the 2023 holiday season.

The Crystal Lake Park District Environmental Committee hosts a spring and fall firewood sale each year and uses the monies collected to purchase plants that attract pollinator insects.


Wood consists mainly of oak, harvested from fallen trees in our parks and natural areas. You load and haul, rain or shine. Advance purchase required.

Community Partner Update

District 47’s online kindergarten registration for the 2023-24 school year is now open! Families can register their incoming kindergartener by completing the steps on the District 47 website at www.d47.org/kindergarten. Families are encouraged to register as soon as possible as early registration helps with adequate staffing, home school placement, and appropriate class size. See below for additional information. 

 

  • A child must turn 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023 to be eligible for kindergarten. For information about early entrance, visit the district’s website at www.d47.org/earlyentrance
  • Fees and student physical/immunization forms are not due at the time of registration.
