Faculty jurisdiction rules
As a part of the Church of England's commitment to reach Carbon Net Zero by 2030, the faculty jurisdiction rules have been amended to help churches meet their carbon reduction targets. The new rules, which took effect from Friday, July 1, 2022, require churches to have due regard to the Church Buildings Council's advice on Carbon Net Zero. To prepare parishes for these changes, the Diocese has produced a summary document of the rule amendments for the benefit of churchwardens and PCCs. This document can be downloaded here.

Launching Saving Creation Lay Training pathway
The Diocese of Leeds is providing a new programme of environmental discipleship, enabling and mission training across three levels. This envisages three categories of engagement: Eco Discipleship for All (Saving Creation Bronze); Parish Environment Officer (Saving Creation Silver); and the pilot role of Eco Missioner (Saving Creation Gold). Training may be undertaken without it necessarily leading to one of the formal categories of engagement.

Who in your parish could benefit from this training? Saving Creation Bronze is available online now here. The Silver and Gold courses will be starting in September. Details can be found here.
