Support Respite for Caregivers

SCRC prioritizes our respite care services for family caregivers. In the last fiscal year, we provided over 47,000 hours of respite care to families. But the demand far exceeds that. Everyday, we hear from caregivers who need additional support, in order to take care of themselves.

This holiday season, we are asking for your support to provide respite care services to family caregivers. These caregivers need support that they can count on - and respite care does just that! Make a tax-deductible gift today at caregivercenter.org/donate

"Let's Talk Caregiving"

Episode 45: REPLAY - Coping over the Holidays with Antonea

This month, we're revisiting an important conversation about navigating the holiday season with one of our family caregivers, Antonea. She specifically shares her experience of the first holiday season after her caregiving role ended. We know this time of year can be particularly challenging - but we want to remind you that we are here to help.

SCRC'S Caregiver of the Month Spotlight: Suzanne

Suzanne is a devoted daughter who moved from the Bay Area to San Diego to assist her mother with her father’s care after he suffered a bad fall. She schedules and arranges transportation for doctors’ appointments, does the grocery shopping and prepares their meals. She also tends to the house and backyard spaces. It hasn’t been easy to navigate all that dementia brings, especially the many unexpected challenges but she is glad that she is able to assist her family throughout these difficult times.

“It was a gift to find SCRC. Their support group for adult children who are caring for a parent has been very valuable. Hearing from others going through similar experiences, being able to have a space to share our ups and downs and receiving helpful suggestions to my situation has given me the strength I needed.”

Are you a family caregiver? Share your story! We want to recognize your dedication and love by nominating you as our caregiver of the month
