Leaves Collected December 13, 14

Leaves and yard waste will next be collected on December 13 and 14. Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags and put out at the curb the evening before the scheduled collection. As a reminder, please don’t rake leaves to the curb and do not place leaf waste and branch trimmings in plastic bags or in trash can containers. They will not be collected.

Residents living south of Skippack Pike will have their leaf and yard waste collected on Tuesday and those living north of Skippack Pike will have their collection on Wednesday.

Please click here for a map of the two collection areas

If your pickup is missed, you must call the Township the day of collection at 610-277-2400. This program is not available to private communities.

The Township is no longer selling paper bags for leaf collection. Bags are available for purchase at many hardware stores, supermarkets and warehouse stores.

From The EAC: Sustainable Holiday Gifts

As the holiday season approaches, many of us are thinking about stocking stuffers and other small gifts. This year why not give gifts that are sustainable? Some "green" gift ideas are:

Wool dryer balls

- reduce your drying times (sometimes even by 25%!!), soften clothes, and reduce static (eliminating the use of throwaway dryer sheets)

Laundry detergent sheets

- to replace liquid detergent in plastic containers

Cloth napkins

- to replace throwaway paper napkins

Reusable produce bags

- to reduce use of throwaway plastic bags when buying fresh produce

Silicone baking mats

- replace parchment paper and aluminum foil

Stretchy silicone bowl, cup and can lids

- cover leftovers without using throwaway plastic wrap or aluminum foil

Zero waste dental floss

- sold in non plastic packaging and floss made of sustainable silk or cornstarch

Bamboo Toothbrushes

- a sustainable alternative to plastic toothbrushes

Lotion, Shampoo & Conditioner Bars

- move away from all those plastic containers we use for hair and body care. Look for sample bar packs that allow trying out various options.
