Dear People of St Andrew’s,
The Season of Epiphany is the time when we celebrate the manifestation, or signs, pointing to who Jesus is. During the season of Epiphany, we see the Magi come bearing gifts. We see the abundance of wine created at the wedding at Cana. And this week we see the overwhelmingly abundant catch of fish in the disciples’ net, so much that their nets began to break and their boats began to sink.
Yes, Jesus is directing the filling of the water jars at Cana and telling the Disciples where to put their nets, but these miracles happened through regular people who were just doing their work.
A while back, someone had an idea of serving a meal to the people from the neighborhood around St Andrew’s. Over the past 10 years how many meals have been served? 25,000? How many people have been welcomed to come in out of the cold for a hot meal? How did this happen? Ordinary people doing what they felt led to do.
Miracles are still happening today! We can see these signs, even today, when we pay attention.
Has the Spirit whispered something in your ear? Share it and let’s see what’s happens!
May God Bless the people of St Andrew’s and the people God brings our way.
