Creative Arts Festival
This Sunday After Each Service
This Sunday is the Creative Arts Festival! Come share in the creative offerings of the St. Mike’s community, talk with the creators about their work and how it helps them connect spiritually and express God’s love, and maybe even learn a new craft. You can experience the festival between the two services and after the second service until 12:30 PM.

Blessing of the Backpacks
This Sunday

As the new school year kicks off, all students, teachers, and educators are invited to bring their backpacks, briefcases and/or notebooks to one of our services this Sunday to receive a blessing and an amazing keychain (see image) to be reminded that God is with them every day!

IHN Volunteer Lunch

10-15 Volunteers Still Needed!
Thank you to the many volunteers already committed to supporting our upcoming host week (September 1-8) at St. Michael's in partnership with IHN. All volunteers are reminded to please plan to attend the Volunteer Lunch Meeting this Sunday, August 18 from 12:00-1:30 in the Multipurpose Room even if you volunteered back in March. If you are NOT able to attend, please contact Kelly Belvis at kellydean0409@gmail.com.
Also roughly 10 spots remain to be filled during the week as well as spots related to help with take down and laundry after the fact. So please prayerfully consider signing up to support this significant effort!

Hearing Loss Ministry
Next Monday, August 19

The new Hearing Loss Ministry for those with hearing loss and those who support them will have their next meeting on Monday downstairs in the Conference Room. Anyone is welcome to join. As a reminder, we invite those challenged with hearing loss - whether or not you wear hearing aids - to try out one of the listening devices you can find in the foyer for an upcoming service. New Emmaus Road Ministry
Faith-based Suicide Loss Group
Learn More on August 25
Emmaus Road is a faith-based grief support group for those who have been impacted by suicide loss, initiated and facilitated by other survivors of this unique loss. The group will meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, beginning September 14, from 10:00-11:30 AM (corrected time) at the church. Anyone who has lost loved ones to suicide or is interested in learning more about this ministry is invited to gather in the downstairs conference room next Sunday, August 25 from 9:15-10:00 AM. Education for Ministry (EfM)
Tuesdays, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Beginning September 17
Education for Ministry (EfM) is Christian formation administered through the School of Theology of the University of the South at Sewanee. Through study, prayer, worship, reflection, and conversation, EfM seminar groups journey together through scripture, Christian tradition, church history, and theology in a small group setting. Developed for those seeking to deepen their faith, led by a lay leader, this is a transformation experience. Registration cost is $350 for year one (36 weeks) and covers all materials. Sacred Water

Beginning September 17
After a highly successful offering of Sacred Water last year, our Creation Care team has chosen to offer this 10-week small group program again. Through prayer and spiritual practices, participants will explore their relationships with water in both Christian scriptures and their daily lives. Participants can expect to leave Sacred Water better equipped to restore the health of our oceans, waterways, and ecosystems through advocacy, grassroots organizing, and daily decision-making. St. Michael's is honored to provide financial support to Care and Share as well as hands on quarterly support through a team of volunteers working at Care and Share to sort and pack food. Please join for our next volunteer opportunity on the morning of Friday, September 6. Creating Space

Stop by Creating Space's table at this Sunday's Creative Arts Festival then join the group the following Saturday to learn how to make Day of the Dead altars, "Las Ofrendas," honoring loved ones who have died. Baked Goods Needed
Thanks to those of you who have brought in goodies, one of the two shelves of the cookie freezer is full! We can still use more however, so please continue to keep St. Mike's in mind as you bake.
