For many years, Christopher Corcoran was active in the Heart of Virginia Council Scouting community, serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 715, merit badge counselor, member of the Cardinal District Committee, Unit Commissioner and an Assistant Roundtable Commissioner. He was instrumental in the development of Cub Adventure Camp. For his dedication to Scouting in the Richmond area, Chris was selected to receive the Cardinal District Award of Merit in 1999 and the Silver Beaver Award in 2003. His family requested that donations for the Heart of Virginia Council in Chris’ memory be directed and restricted to the Cub Adventure Camp Maintenance Fund, to help ensure the continuation of the Scouting experience for generations to come, at the facility Chris loved so much. 2024 Greater Richmond Coptic Festival Scout Service Needed:
August 24th - 25th

The 2024 Greater Richmond Coptic Festival in Chesterfield is scheduled for August 24th – 25th, and our friends at the St. Mina & Pope Kyrillous Coptic Orthodox Church are in need of some help. Scouts seeking service hours are invited! They anticipate needing 15–20 Scouts over the two days (approximately 10 volunteers or more per day). Volunteers should be at least 13–14 years of age. The Church will provide free light food, water, soda, and other snacks.
