Board Meeting Recap

Our monthly board meeting started with a devotional from Mr. Vande Pol on our calling and God's plan to use our board's individual talents collectively for his purpose.

We reviewed reports from administration, admissions, and finance. We discussed several topics including:

  • summer tutoring
  • campus maintenance
  • our auditorium/gym construction plan
  • enrollment for next year's budget
  • our athletic program
  • faculty staff plans for the upcoming school year

We praised the Lord for our covenantal nature and the opportunity to assist parents in their calling to train up their children in the way they should go. We ended our evening in prayer for our teachers, students, families, and churches.

We ask you for your continued prayers for our board, faculty, and school.

Thank you to the Alexander family for the incredible Ember mugs and charging station for Covenantal Coffee!

Senior Spotlights

Christian Federoff

Moorpark College

Christian joined the Hillcrest family in 9th grade. He immediately involved himself in a diverse set of interests ranging from a variety of computer classes, 3D sculpture, photography, and helped to capture fun HCS memories for the school yearbooks. In sports he dabbled a bit in baseball and track & field but, Christian’s true love is basketball where he spent most of his time. Even when he was unable to be on the court, he continued to support his team from the sideline. Christian will attend Moorpark college in the fall to study finance and sports management. After that, his desire is to transfer to UC Santa Barbara to continue his studies.

Madison Lyon

Grand Canyon University

Madison transferred to Hillcrest when her family moved from Arizona at the beginning of her 10th grade year. Her love for music, singing, and performance prompted her to join the drama production of Aladdin. Madison continued being an asset to the Hillcrest community by joining the cheer squad to support both our varsity football and basketball teams. She also loves working with younger students and has served each year as a teacher’s assistant in our elementary classes. Madison will be returning to Arizona in the fall to attend Grand Canyon University.

Kalli Warren

University of Hawaii at Manoa

Moving back to California from Florida midway through her junior year, Kalli is one of our newcomers. However, this did not prevent her from forming meaningful relationships with her new classmates. This incredibly intelligent young lady has chosen a rigorous path of study including AP and honor courses while maintaining one of the highest GPAs in the class. Excited about travel and new adventures, Kalli has committed to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the fall.

The student-athletes will be picked up right after school by our coaching staff from the pick-up lines and brought to the restrooms to get their athletic attire on before bringing them up to the court/field. As parents, you are welcome to come and watch the practices/games, or the coaches will walk student-athletes down to the Early Education office for pick-up after each practice/game.
