Micah and Danielle Thompson got into the spirit with their costumes at the Reed's North fundraiser for the Warner Historical Society with its Ski history theme on Jan. 18th.
Early Sunday morning (1/22/23), Anders Sailer was airlifted from Bangor, Maine to Portsmouth, New Hampshire by plane and from Portsmouth to Mass General in Boston by helicopter for an emergency brain surgery. A bad sinus infection during Christmas time created multiple abscesses in his brain (5cm), a "one in a Million" occurrence. He is on the road to recovery, and has left the ICU but will need extended antibiotic treatment and follow up sinus surgery (information provided by his mom, Pipere Sailer).
The Library's Circle of Friends will meet Thursday February 16 (corrected Date!) at 1:30 PM at Pillsbury Free Library for an organizational meeting to discuss activities for 2023. All welcome. Typical activities include assisting with fundraising activities such as a flea market, book sales, bake sales, and community socials.

Apple Hill String Quartet - Sunday, January 29 at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum
An afternoon of music featuring selections by Navajo composer, Raven Chacon, as well as other pieces. The music begins at 2 pm but doors open at 1 pm to purchase tickets and walk through the galleries. Light refreshments will be provided. The concert length is approximately 45 minutes.

NH Telephone Museum Winter Homeschool Series: Let’s explore Morse code on our working telegraph, examine rebuses, decode secret messages, dial phonewords, learn the phonetic alphabet, read Braille, and more! Wednesdays 10-11:30AM, February 8, 2023, March 8, 2023. Parents - $5/Children - $8. Includes a pass to visit the museum. Online reservations REQUIRED. Only 12 students per class. Ages 6-12. This is not a drop off program; parents must accompany their children for the duration of the program.
Mid-Winter Social Join MKIM on Sunday, February 5th from 2-6 pm for an afternoon of music, dancing, food, and fellowship. Dust off your dancing shoes and bring a dish to share. Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum says "It looks like we will have enough snow to host our 2nd Annual Snow Snake Games in partnership with the Abenaki Trails Project. Join us on Sunday, February 19th from 10 am to 4 pm to try the ancient game of Snow Snake. We'll provide the wooden snow snakes which are tossed into troughs of snow to see how far they can go. The library holds several fundraising events and many programs during the year, including an Indoor Flea Market at Warner Town Hall in April and a Book Sale in October. The Library's Circle of Friends often helps with these events and will meet Thurs. February 16 at 1:30 PM at Pillsbury Free Library for an organizational meeting to discuss these and other activities for 2023. All welcome. One event in the works: Local Author Night.

Winter is finally here, and with quite the BANG!!
Please remember, if the weather is "iffy", call to check to be sure that we are open. Sometimes we close to keep everyone safe until it's OK to travel, so the library may have a delayed opening or an early closing. Also, we like to give the Town Crew time and space to clear the parking and sidewalks!

This program is held in the library's Children's Room.
