Saint Mary School is Leading the Way for Catholic School Education

This week the Monmouth Journal highlighted our very own Mrs. Abbud, second grade teacher, and the wonderful work we are doing inside the classroom. Read the full article here.

Principal's Message

We have over 100 families registered to attend our Open House this Sunday, we are truly blessed. The word is out that Saint Mary School is the best place for children to learn. I invite our entire Saint Mary School community to join us on Sun., Jan. 29, for Mass at Mary Mother of God Church at noon to kick off Catholic Schools Week. Immediately following Mass we will host our Open House at 1 pm.

We have increased our fundraising to 26% of our Polar Plunge goal, with Team Kindergarten still in the lead! 5th grade took home first prize again by bringing in the most nickels. We need more people to register and donate to make this another tremendous fundraiser for our school. Remember, you do not have to plunge to support the school. Families and students can still make contributions to their team by grade level. Please note that the form needs to be filled out to participate.

God bless,

Craig Palmer

Principal

FACULTY HIGHLIGHT

Patrick Melosh

Math Teacher

Monmouth University

Bachelor of Science in Accounting

Monmouth University

Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics

I attended both a Catholic elementary school and high school—in fact, I’m a graduate of Saint Mary School. After retiring from a 36-year career at Christian Brothers Academy, I returned to teach math at Saint Mary, as well as moderating the Math Club and Chess Club, and coaching the girls basketball team. Families sacrifice to send their children to Catholic school. I love the

interaction with Saint Mary students.”

Parent Homework

The Gala committee is still looking for volunteers to help with the most important part of our event, soliciting! We need people willing to go out and get donations from local businesses around Monmouth County. Without your help, this event cannot be a success. PTA volunteer hours will be given. The sign-up genius for gala volunteer solicitors is now open here. These hours count toward your PTA hour obligation.
