Conflict Resolution Clinics @ CB
Exploring Four Major Divorce Process Options--
to Resolve Other Conflicts?
With Charles Spiegel, Esq.
Febuary 15, Wednesday | 6:00-8:00pm PST
CB Members: $25 / Public: $45
Live Interactive Workshop on Zoom | 2 MCLE
Come discuss divorce the day after Valentine's Day. Here's why!

Charlie Spiegel will share his expertise in educating people about the advantages and disadvantages of each of the four major process choices for divorce: Do It Yourself (DIY), Mediation, Collaborative Practice (CP), and Full Scope Legal Representation. This follows up the successful and informative Community Boards clinic last fall with Steve Rosenberg, which focused on divorce mediation alone.

In addition to sharing this information, in an interactive way Charlie will then apply these multiple approaches to resolving divorce cases to consider the advantages and disadvantages of these four techniques with other disputes.

He will discuss the multiple interdisciplinary practices used in alternative divorce resolution – those of mental health coaches, co-parenting counselors, and divorce financial analysts, in addition to attorneys -- and how they can be applied to the Community Boards and other models.

Time permitting, Charlie will share his own unique model for educating people in advance about the legal rights and responsibilities that come with marriage, which he is convinced can lessen the chance of divorce. Can this be applied to educating to proactively avoid other disputes that we see at Community Boards or otherwise?

We hope you will join and help create an informative and dynamic evening.

Participants will:
  • Explore the advantages and disadvantages of the four major process choices for divorce: Do It Yourself (DIY), Mediation, Collaborative Practice (CP), and Full Scope Legal Representation.

  • Review the multiple approaches to resolving divorce, in order to learn techniques to minimize and resolve other disputes using the Community Boards mediation model and other approaches.

  • Understand, in advance, how the legal rights and responsibilities that come with marriage can lessen the chance of divorce.
