Final Call for Big Wednesday

Tonight we'll meet for food, fellowship, and learning on the last Big Wednesday of the summer. The grill will be ready by 5 PM; bring your entrée and a side dish to share. We will provide condiments, paper products, and beverages. Everyone is invited!

Let's Go Hiking

Join the OSLM Hiking Group on August 10 at 8 AM at the Stairs leading to the Visitor Center at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont. Everyone is invited. The chosen trail is along the bay and fairly flat. Contact John Webb with any questions.

Family Programs Return

With summer winding down, and school about to begin, we are excited for the return of our family programing. Our second service, Sunday School, and Youth Groups will start back up on Sunday, September 8. More information to follow!

Bible Sponsorship

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Bible drive. With your help, we reached our goal and will be able to put 170 Bibles into the hands of our students at age-appropriate levels.

Thank you for making this possible!

PrayerNet Support

Jesse and Dorcas will be unplugged through Tuesday, August 20. In their absence, please submit your prayer requests to Angela Westphal, in the church office.

Adult Luncheon

Join us on Wednesday, August 21 at noon in the Fireside Room. Bring a salad to share, drinks and dessert will be provided.

Adult Choirs Return

The 2024 – 2025 choir season for the adult ensembles is just around the corner. Choirs will start up again in September.

Women’s Ensemble will begin rehearsing on Wednesday mornings at 10 AM starting on September 4. Women’s Ensemble participates in Sunday morning worship services and the Christmas

Concert. Ladies interested in singing ~ a love of singing praises to the Lord is all that is necessary.

The first rehearsal for the Adult Choir will be Thursday, September 5. Rehearsals are in the choir room from 7- 8:30 PM. The seasonal highlight is the annual Christmas Concert, which is scheduled for December 8 at 3 PM! There’s plenty of room in each section of the choir! Consider joining the choir this season!

Our Savior Ringers (Adult Handbell Choir) will begin rehearsing on Monday, September 9, from 7- 8 PM in the sanctuary. There are several positions available (both large and small bells!) for anyone interested in learning to ring praises to God. We love to teach new members the joy of ringing the bells. Please feel free to talk to a current Handbell member if you have questions about the bells.

Please call Karen Schroeder, Music Director, at 925-447-1246, ext. 231 for more information on any of the music groups.

Help us Build Care Kits

The OSLM quilt group and Adult Lunch Bunch will again assemble Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief. You can help by donating bath-size soaps, and nail clippers for the kits.

A collection box will be in the back of the church until September 1. Our goal is to ship 75 kits in October. We appreciate your support. Please contact Beverly Trutner at 925.989.9760 with any questions.

New Women's Bible Study

Paul's letter to the Galatians exhorted believers to stand firm in the truth, stay bold in love, and walk by the Spirit. Paul also reminded them what it looked like to live for God’s approval rather than human approval. These words are as needed today as they were then. This Beth Moore study begins on Friday, September 13, and will be finished in early December. If you'd like to join us, please email Beth Young or call her at 925.344.1011 to reserve a workbook ($21).

Updates for the Directory

We'll be soon updating our Church Family directory. If you have moved, changed your email address, or dropped your landline, please email Angela Westphal, or call the church office at 925.447.1246.

If you are not already included in the directory and want to be, now is the perfect time. Just let us know!
