Kindness to our Neighbors in Need

The General Election is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8^th. The polls will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.

The City of Lodi is conducting a food drive on election day. Please help support the great work of Reach Out Lodi by donating a non-perishable food item when you come to the polls.

For each item donated, Lodi Utilities in partnership with WPPI Energy, will donate $1 to Reach Out Lodi's food pantry (up to $1000).

The items in great need at the food pantry include the following:

Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Jelly (all flavors)
Rice
Coffee
Cereal Bars
Granola Bars
Pudding Cups
Juice (all kinds, large)
Potatoes (great need)
Onions (great need)

Sugar
Brown Sugar

We are always thankful for our customers and support from our community, but today we especially count our blessings.

In honor of Thanksgiving, the utility and city hall offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the City and Utility!

Water Meter Upgrade

Last month we told you about the upcoming project to replace all water meters with an AMI (Advance Metering Infrastructure) meter. We are getting closer to kicking off this project. Last week, our billing manager's computer was updated with the necessary software and on November 15^th and 16^th we will begin onsite training.

After Thanksgiving, we plan on mailing letters to the first round of customers we would like to get scheduled to swap out meters - our non-residential customers and our larger apartment complexes. We will be creating additional documentation to show you the benefits these new meters provide once we have some in place. These meters are truly a great benefit for our customers. The AMI meters will allow for early detection of leaks and high water usage which will help prevent large and unnecessary water bills.
