From the Director

Greetings and Happy Spring! As we wrapped up the first quarter of the year, our programs continued to see growth at a pace much like the previous year. As an example, in January 2023, we saw 781 unique households accessing our food services... READ MORE

Meet our 2023 Bob Gray Leadership Award Winner: Judy Kenyon!

Driven by her belief that no one should go hungry, Judy came to us in response to an ad in the Issaquah Press 24 years ago. Little did she know that this would quickly replace her career, post-retirement from Boeing, with her dedicating multiple days each week and becoming an invaluable asset to our organization and the volunteers who’ve had the privilege to work alongside her... When the Unexpected Happens

As a former medical assistant, Ashley was accustomed to being the caregiver and helper. “I was always putting others before myself,” she admitted. In 2021, Ashley sustained an injury at work that changed her life. Even after surgery, she is still not able to cook, cut food, or wash dishes… READ MORE

You've Made a Tremendous Impact!

In 2023, about 7,500 people received critical resources — made possible because of thousands of community members who came together to:

  • Collect 945,165 pounds of food to control costs and reduce waste.
  • Contribute 20,615 volunteer hours to ensure high-quality operations and services.
  • Respond generously, giving $2,621,600 to meet the growing need.

Our Families Thank You!

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and community partner who helped provide a special grocery shopping experience for 220 families with a total of 530 children at the Spring Lunch for the Break in April.

This is a 30% growth over the number of children served through Spring Lunch for the Break last year. These extra shopping visits are crucial for families when children are home from school and don't have access to school-provided free and reduced-price lunches... LEARN MORE

Tell your neighbors: It’s time for the national Stamp Out Hunger food drive! Just fill a bag with items from our priority needs list and set it out at the mailbox Saturday morning, May 11, for pick up by your local carrier. It’s so easy to help fight food insecurity in our community!

Making Sweet Music for Our Community

Our faithful supporters at the Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra will hold their annual Food Raiser Concert on Monday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Eastridge Church. This is a free, family-friendly evening of music, including:

  • Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasia (Tchaikovsky)
  • The Bamboula (Samuel Coleridge Taylor)
  • Overture in D (Elfrida Andree)

Last year's concert collected nearly 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and raised needed funds to support this work. Click here for a list of food items needed and more event details. We hope to see you there!

Thank You for Giving BIG!

We are so grateful for our two generous donors who gave $20,000 in matching funds to encourage giving and to the 60+ donors who have collectively donated $28,051 for a total of $48,051 raised. These funds will help to address the growing number of families seeking access to high-nutrient foods to improve and maintain their basic health needs. If we reach our $50,000 goal for this campaign, those funds can support 1,325 families shopping in our market. For every $150 donated, 4 shopping visits are funded! Thank you!
