Join us for a special online Memorial Day worship service this Sunday, May 28 at 10 a.m.! The service will be pre-recorded and we will not have in-person worship, to help everyone avoid the traffic and street closings during the Vermont City Marathon in Burlington.
Reminder: Deadline for Memory Book Submissions Is June 4
Hope Baker-Carr, Board President
Please contribute your personal messages of gratitude, farewell, and/or happy retirement for the memory book being created for Rev. Tricia. 4” x 5” cards are available for this on the top of the piano in the Parlors. You may also use your own, small stationary (4” x 5” or less preferred), or email a message to me and I will print it on a separate card and include it in the book. (Do not write on the back of the card as it will be glued in!!) We welcome your artwork on these cards. Place completed cards in the Memory Book Box on top of the piano in the Parlors, or email me at [email protected].
Do You Have Photos of FUUSB Activities or Groups of Congregants?
Hope Baker-Carr, Board President
Photos of groups of FUUSB staff, members, friends, and/or FUUSB activities will also contribute a great deal to the memory book, in addition to the photos of Rev. Tricia that I have already. Please put in the box on the piano in the Parlors or email the digital files to me at [email protected]. (Digital files should be 300K or more in size.) Thank you!!!
"Endings & Beginnings: A Year-End Evening Gathering" - June 7
Rev. David Ruffin, Director of Youth & Creative Arts Ministries
Wednesday, June 7
Music, Poetry, & other Sharing with Potluck beforehand!
6 p.m. Potluck Dinner & 7 p.m. Service Gathering
With Rev. Tricia & Rev. David, Creative Arts Ministry leaders, James, Sam & the FUUSB Choir
Before our big farewell to Rev. Tricia on Sunday, June 11, creative arts ministry leaders have decided to offer this more informal opportunity to be together to mark all the transitions we are in the midst of as a community, through poetry, song and sharing. Goodbyes to David and Rev. Tricia accompany the arrival of many new faces and return of old faces. There's a sense of the closing of an unforgettable chapter of life and community at FUUSB, and the anticipation of an exciting new chapter beginning. This is an opportunity for appreciation and reflection.
Big thanks to the Choir for inviting us all to join their last rehearsal time! We'll gather with them in the Community Room at 6 p.m. for a potluck dinner (contributions welcome!) and then enjoy a music and arts-filled service gathering at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Sanctuary, with space for sharing what's on our hearts at this time.
Join us for a celebration of Rev. Tricia’s ministry on Sunday, June 11, at 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. This will follow her final worship service as our Developmental Senior Minister. There will be songs, tributes, gifts, videos, and messages from special guests, as we give thanks for Rev. Tricia and her ministry.
Childcare will be available during this time. And, the event will be live-streamed for those who wish to watch at home.
A potluck picnic lunch will follow, at 12:30 p.m. on the front lawn. (In case of rain, the picnic will move to the Community Room.)
Please click this link before June 5 to sign up to bring something yummy for the potluck, or to volunteer to assist in the set-up and take-down. (Thanks to all who have already signed up!)
Tables and chairs will be provided, though you’re encouraged to bring camping chairs or picnic blankets.
You’re also invited to contribute to a special memory book for Rev. Tricia, by submitting a 4” x 5” card. (Cards and instructions are available in the Parlors. You may use your own 4” x 5” card). Drop your completed card in the box in the Parlors, or mail it to FUUSB, by June 4.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
