Take a Chance and Support After Prom

For the second year, After Prom is being held as a private event at TopGolf in Independence on Saturday, May 18, from 11 PM until 1 AM. After Prom provides a fun, safe, substance-free event for our students to continue their evening after Prom is over. After Prom is solely funded by parents and financed through fundraisers and community sponsors. While BBHHS endorses this event, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District provides zero financial assistance.

In order to make this event successful and to keep the cost very minimal for our students, we rely on the support of generous individuals and businesses in our community. Please consider participating in one or all of these fundraisers or make a general donation.

Donations of any amount are also greatly appreciated! Visit Cheddar Up to complete the form and make your credit card payment. Cash or checks (payable to BBHHS PSO) are also accepted after completing the online form in Cheddar Up and hand-delivered in an envelope with the name and donation level to Kelly Petros in teh BBHHS Main Office by 10:00 AM Friday, May 3rd. More information about this outstanding event can be found on the BBHHS PSO website.

School Fees

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to remind families of the importance of reconciling all school fee accounts, particularly for our juniors and seniors. Carrying an account balance could impact your child's ability to participate in significant end-of-year events such as prom and commencement.

Failure to reconcile school fee accounts may result in restrictions on participation and attendance at these milestone events. Please don't hesitate to contact our school administration if you need assistance or have any questions regarding your child's account.

We strongly encourage parents to access their child's PaySchools account and ensure that all fees are up to date to avoid restricting families' ability to access or attend these key end-of-year events. We greatly appreciate your attention and understanding regarding the payment of fees.

Ohio State Test and Advanced Placement Testing

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School will again administer our required Ohio State Tests (EOCs) this week.  Please note that we will have two days of delayed start times on Monday, April 22nd, and Tuesday, April 23rd.  Today, students received their assigned testing location via their BBHHS email account. Please encourage them to review their assignment before the testing session on Monday. We also request that students come prepared for the testing session with their fully charged school-issued Chromebook. If a student has declined the use of their Chromebook, a device will be issued to them at the start of the testing period.

Transportation and cafeteria services will run as regularly scheduled on delayed test dates. If needed, students who are not testing arrive at the regular school day start time and will be scheduled in a monitored study hall in the cafeteria.

Juniors attending CVCC should report to CVCC for their regularly scheduled program and report times on the delayed start dates unless they take an EOC. Due to the delayed start time, seniors who attend CVCC should not attend BBHHS for their regularly scheduled afternoon classes.

Advanced Placement Testing

Many of our Advanced Placement teachers will be running practice test sessions on the deleted start dates shared above. Students may be required by their teacher to attend these sessions. Staff will communicate their expectations to students required to attend these AP test preparation periods on the delayed start days.

Students have received an email outlining test day preparation for AP exams. This email is also attached here for parent reference. If you have questions regarding AP exam administration please contact your child's school counselor for assistance.

Next Level Prep Session at BBHHS

Attention, current sophomores, and juniors: The final Next Level Prep college entrance exam testing session will be returned to BBHHS. This year's seminar will cover material and test-taking strategies for the SAT and ACT and will take place on Friday, April 26th, 8:00 AM - 2:45 PM. Please click here for more information on NLP and to register for this phenomenal test prep opportunity.

Attention Seniors Interested in Speaking at Graduation

We are excited to invite our seniors to apply to serve as a class speaker at this year's commencement ceremony. If your senior is interested in addressing their classmates and the families of our graduates, please encourage them to submit a speech of approximately three to five minutes in length for consideration. Suggested themes are sharing memories of the student's educational journey as a part of the BBHCSD, hopes or advice for the future, and words of encouragement for their classmates.

The deadline for speech submissions is Friday, April 26th, by 3:00 PM. Submitted speeches must be typed and double-spaced and delivered to the main office. Following this deadline, a committee of teachers and building administration will review the speeches for evaluation and final selection.

Selected speakers will be notified and have support in preparing to deliver their speeches, with revisions and rehearsals provided by BBHHS faculty members. We hope many seniors will consider submitting speeches for this memorable occasion.

Please contact Ms. Treter in the main office with any further questions or need any assistance.

Rising Senior Meningitis Vaccination Requirement Notice

Please note that students entering the 12th grade are required by law to receive their second Meningitis vaccination before the first day of school during their senior year. Annual notification is made to ensure families have plenty of time to ensure their child receives the required vaccination before the 2024-2025 school year starts. If your child has already received the second dose, you may begin submitting your child's updated immunization record to our Health Care Coordinator, Kim DiRocco. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact Ms. Kim DiRocco at 440-740-4406 or through email at kim diroccok@bbhcsd.org
