NHS & Beta Club December Project
Recently, through the generous contributions of the DCS families, the National Honor Society and Beta clubs delivered 48 "goodie bags" to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. These bags are for low-income senior citizens and their pets. The bags were filled with food and treats for the pets as well as personal care items for the senior citizens.
The students did all the work - collecting monies at Jeans Day, making posters to advertise Jeans Day, making personalized Christmas cards for each senior citizen, measuring out food and treats and filling gallon bags with dog food, then stuffing all the items in the bags. The shelter was so grateful for all the donations and told us that this was the first time they had ever received anything like this.
A big "Thank You" to the families of DCS who donated $900 for the Jeans Day, which allowed us to buy the supplies. We were also able to contribute bags of food and treats to the shelter itself. Additionally, thank you to the Turney family who donated boxes of treats and boxes of canned dog and cat food.
Thank you for being a part of blessing some needy senior citizens and their beloved pets.
