It was great to see 80+ business owners, nonprofits, chambers, visitors bureaus, planning commissions, and municipal leaders attend our in-person public meetings in Milford, Hawley, and Honesdale to learn about the PA Route 6 Façade Program in the Pocono Mountains Region.
We are excited to see the projects that will result from this program in Wayne and Pike Counties. The deadline to submit your application to the PA Route 6 Façade Program in the Pocono Mountains Region is May 8, 2024!

Saturday, April 6th is opening day of trout season in Pennsylvania. Each year, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks around 3.2 million trout in 697 streams and 129 lakes, and it just so happens that northern Pennsylvania has some of the best fishing waters in the entire state!

Saturday, April 27th: Spring Gobbler Special Season for eligible junior hunters, with required license, and mentored hunters 16 and under. Statewide Season starts May, 4th.

On Friday, April 19, 2024, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, visit the Eliot Ness Museum in the Heritage Community of Coudersport to celebrate Eliot Ness’s 121st birthday! In addition to a unique museum experience, there will be cake and refreshments. Music will be provided by Steve Quelet and Eppie Bailey and by Dan Butler. Tickets to the event are available on the website.

April 1st through November 30th: Explore 300 feet beneath the earth's surface on the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, a National Award-Winning History Attraction that originally opened as a working mine in 1860. Visit their website for more details, including hours of operation.
Every Tuesday, from April 9th-June 4th: Do you remember old time radio? Did you always wonder how all the sound effects were made? Or wonder how it feels to stand in front of a microphone and read the lines of the character you are playing? Visit the Dietrich Theatre in Tunkhannock and you will learn and experience all of this and more. A live performance will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. Call 570-836-1022 x3 to register.
Now - April 28th: The Art Factory Of White Mills offers classes throughout the year. Check out the remaining classes being offered in April. Pre-registraion required.
Saturday, April 20th: Plan a trip to Factoryville for the Think Spring! Gardening Seminar. Join the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Wyoming County for a four-session educational program offering inspiration and instructional how-to for gardeners of all experience levels.ZDSF
Saturday & Sunday April 20th & 21st: Pennsylvania Lumber Museum Spring Antique Show & Sawmill Run 9AM-4P M. Vendors will be on hand selling a variety of items like furniture, glassware, coins, books, clothing, and collectibles. A selection of historic trades, including the museum’s birch still, will be demonstrated. PALMA members Jan and John Halter will present a cooking demonstration and tasting featuring wild leeks from 11am-1pm both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, April 20 ONLY, visitors will be able to watch the museum’s re-created 19th century steam-powered circular sawmill in operation. Access to all museum exhibits and attractions is included in the price of admission to the show. Food and drink will be available on-site for purchase. No ATM on site so plan your visit accordingly. Antique vendors interested in participating can call (814)435-2652 to reserve a space for the event. Come for the fun and, perhaps, leave with a new treasured heirloom and a better understanding of the lumber and forest history of Pennsylvania.
May 4th: Art & Tea Time with Mommy & Me! at West End Artisan Shop. An early Mother's Day experience that you'll create a clay Mommy & Me matching jewelry set. Enjoy tea and cookies while the clay charms bake. Pre-registration required. Email westendartisanshop@gmaio.com
June 22nd & 23rd: Art In The Wilds, held in Evergreen Park, Kane, is a juried Fine Art & Craft Show that brings together regional artist and artisans.
June 29th: From Seed To Salve, join Beth, Denise & Nicole for a hands-on herbal intensive, educational workshop at Greener Pastures. Discover how to germinate, transplant, grow, harvest, dry, and formulate oxymels, salves, and tinctures for you health and wellness. RSVP required. Includes farm to table lunch, snacks, medicinal plants and samples.

Each year at the Annual Meeting & Educational Workshop, the Alliance recognizes and celebrates just a handful of those outstanding individuals and groups through their annual "Do 6" Awards Ceremony. These individuals, organizations, and businesses exemplify the mission of the PA Route 6 Alliance to protect, preserve and enhance the scenic, cultural, historical, and recreational resources of Pennsylvania’s northern tier. The winners will be announced at our Annual Meeting & "Do 6" Awards Presentations this fall in Honesdale.
