Input on the Statewide Early Childhood Care

and Education Strategic Plan*

The Idaho School Readiness Project partners are updating the statewide early childhood care and education strategic plan. You are invited to share what you think at a listening session to ensure the strategic plan is on target. Your Voice Matters! What is needed to improve options for Idaho children birth through 5?


We want input from parents of children 0-5, ECCE teachers, caregivers, administrators, business partners, and community members!


We hope you and the families and community members you support will attend one of the following 60-minute listening sessions.

IPUL Still Hiring For North Idaho


This candidate needs to live in the northern region of Idaho and have good connections to the resources and families there. This is a ten hour per week position focused on transition to adulthood. They will work in coordination with our two other transition coordinators and our lead in the Boise office. The wage is 22 per hour.

Job Title: North Idaho Youth and Family Transition Coordinator

Position Type: One remote position in North Idaho.  10 hours/week. 


Idaho Parents Unlimited is seeking a dedicated Youth and Family Transition Coordinator to join our team, assisting in the transition of youth with disabilities into adulthood. A successful candidate will be involved in developing and enhancing resources and guidance across various domains including Self-Determination/Self-Advocacy, Financial Literacy, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Career Development alongside their regional teams that consist of a variety of professional partners and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of guidance documents and resources in Self-Determination/Self-Advocacy, Financial Literacy, CTE, and Career Development.

Participate in and contribute to local and regional interagency teams and meetings.

Assist in the development and facilitation of training and resources for local interagency support.

Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure effective transition planning and services for students with disabilities.

Develop, revise, and present training workshops to youth, families, and professional partners. These may be one to one or groups, both large and small.


Requirements:

Proven experience working with youth with disabilities, particularly those in transition to adulthood

and/or families who have children and youth with disabilities.

Knowledge of Self-Determination/Self-Advocacy, Financial Literacy, CTE, and Career Development.

Ability to collaborate with local education agencies, teachers, families, students, businesses, Vocational Rehabilitation, and related services professionals.

Excellent organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.


Additional Responsibilities:

Remote Work Capability: Ability to work effectively from home or any remote location, with reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.

Community Engagement: Proactively make connections and build relationships within the community to support the goals of the program and the needs of youth with disabilities.

Self-Initiation: Demonstrate strong self-initiation, taking proactive steps to manage tasks and responsibilities without direct supervision.

Remote Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a remote team based in the Boise office, ensuring clear communication and coordination of efforts.

Online and Social Media Presence: Maintain a strong and professional online presence, utilizing social media platforms to engage with the community, share resources, and promote program objectives.

Tech Proficiency: Tech-savvy with the ability to utilize various digital tools and platforms to enhance work efficiency and program reach.

Public Speaking: Possess strong public speaking skills, capable of effectively presenting information and advocating for the program and its beneficiaries in diverse settings.

Data Reporting and Writing: Demonstrate excellent skills in data reporting and writing, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of program activities and outcomes.

Confidentiality: Must understand and adhere to all laws and policies that address the confidentiality of health and educational information as it pertains to the families and youth we serve, data, and Idaho Parents Unlimited.


Desired Outcomes for Youth Transitioning to Adulthood and the Systems that Impact Them:

Enhanced self-determination and self-advocacy skills among students.

Improved financial literacy and access to career and technical education for students with disabilities.

Increased participation and success in career development activities and employment experiences.

Development of a comprehensive statewide system of support for successful postsecondary outcomes.

Ensure families and youth are represented in all aspects of planning and implementation of activities.
