A Message from Principal Dumar

Hello Bradfield Families!

Students, teachers and staff from around the district celebrated Inclusive Schools Week (ISW) Dec. 5-9. The national event helps bring awareness to how recognizing unique differences can make for a stronger learning environment. With the help of parents and community members, students participated in lessons centered on kindness, empathy and ways to include others. Students had the opportunity to have guest speakers such as Artist, Desmond Blair, former Broncos Anne Marie and Grace and greeted at arrival by the Spirited Scots.

A special thank you to Bradfield’s Special Education Coordinator, Cynthia Marlow,  the HPISD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) and Bradfield’s SEPAC parent rep, Liz Lynch for their help in coordinating ISW campus/district events and celebrations. Visit the SEPAC webpage to learn more.

The writer of the week was second grader Iris Anne Haddock in Mrs. Young’s class. Her assignment was to write an informative piece based on research. She shared facts on the red fox. An interesting fact we learned is the red fox is not red when they are born.   Not only did she provide facts, but she incorporated vocabulary skills as well. Great job, Iris Anne!

Congratulations to staff member Linzie Mills and her husband, James on the birth of their new son. Little Caden arrived a tad early on December 5th weighing 7.2 lbs. Mama, Daddy and little Caden are home and enjoying this new beginning.

I encourage you to check out the Broncoland spotlight below. This week’s highlights include: Inclusive Schools Week, Heart Dissection and the Science Lab.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!
