Discover the Hidden Rooms of the Zucker Shrub Garden
Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00 - 3:30 PM
Cornell Botanic Gardens
Named for Isabel Schnapps Zucker, Cornell Class of ’23, the Zucker Shrub Garden, located in the Botanic Gardens’ F.R. Newman Arboretum, is a remarkable place to view perennials, shrubs, and ornamental grasses. Its “garden rooms” show how such plants can be used in inspiring ways. The shrubs featured in each room are selected for their flowers, fruit, fall color, and winter interest.
Join horticulturist Nick Polato to explore how ecological traits and cultural history relate to the stories of how these plants from around the globe found their place in our home gardens. Walk will be held rain or shine; please dress appropriately for the weather.
$12 general admission; free for Botanic Gardens members. Meet by the Zucker Shrub Collection, just inside the Forest Home Drive entrance to the Arboretum. For more information, please visit the event web page.

Volunteers needed to support swimmers – assemble packets, kayak/canoe alongside participants, sherpa boats, welcome swimmers out of the water, and more.
All money raised by Women Swimmin’ goes directly toward patient services at Hospicare, including subsidies for patients without means to cover the cost of their care, and bereavement services for those in our community dealing with loss (regardless of whether their loved one died in hospice services or not).
