The Town Gets a Fresh Coat of Paint!
Pollard 107 South Welcomes You to Vinton
Pollard 107 South gets closer to their grand opening by revealing a new 'Welcome to Vinton' mural on the Gus Nicks Blvd. side of their building. Visitors using this main gateway into town are now welcomed with a friendly message from the new business. Pollard 107 South plans to open early this summer.
Vinton Vet Adds New Mural
Local artist and William Byrd graduate, Jon Murrill, worked with current William Byrd High School students to paint a new mural at the Vinton Veterinary Specialty Service Center. Vinton Veterinary Hospital recently celebrated the expansion of their Specialty Services Center beside their existing location on E. Washington Avenue.

Cleveland Mart Redevelopment Project
The former Cleveland Mart space at 528 E. Cleveland Ave. is being redeveloped into a mixed-use building with 6-7 residential units and approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of office/retail space. The Town of Vinton and local developers held a community meeting this week to explain the project to surrounding property owners. Construction will begin in the coming months and will take approximately one year to complete.
Arbor Day at Herman L. Horn
Herman L. Horn Elementary celebrated Arbor Day last week with some fun and earth-friendly events. The day included a fashion show featuring creative costumes students made from recycled materials, a tree planting at the school, and even a visit from Smokey Bear! Watch the recap video from RVTV HERE
Infrastructure Improvements
  • The E. Cleveland Water Line Replacement Project continues and is expected to be completed in late spring. Roads will be repaved once completed - Learn More Here
  • Walnut Avenue Phase 1 improvements from 5th St. to Roanoke City limit have resumed
  • Walnut Avenue Phase 2 will begin next month
  • Glade Creek Greenway Phase 2b will begin construction next month

Congratulations to the Town's very own Community Programs Director, Chasity Barbour for being the 2023 platinum winner of the Female Star of the Star City category in the Roanoker Magazine! Chasity has been with the Town of Vinton for nine years and handles an array of responsibilities, including management of the Vinton War Memorial, event coordination within the Town, and the All Things Vinton series with Roanoke Valley Television.
