Social Security Announces 8.7% Increase for 2023!
The 8.7 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will begin with benefits payable to more than 65 million Social Security beneficiaries in January 2023. On average, this will result in an increase of more than $140 per month.
NJAAW applauds this timely increase, which the is highest since 1981. On top of the 2022 COLA of 5.9%, this increase will counter the impact of inflation, which is making many older adults financially vulnerable. For the Social Security Administration’s press release, click here: COLA Press Release
