FPTV is heading into a major remodeling project beginning in early July! We are thrilled to add expanded dining spots, a larger guest laundry room (going from one washer and dryer set to four!) with an attached playroom along with a multi-purpose room to help us in providing relevant support to the families we serve. We are most excited about the addition of our commercial kitchen as this has been our dream since day one of building ownership! The kitchen is the heart of the home and sharing food together is one area where we can all gather as a community, knocking down the walls that sometimes stand between us. We can’t wait. Our kitchen manager, Eric, has worked hard to cook hot meals off site and then bring back to the shelter and serve our guests. Thank you Eric, Rise Church and Lake Grove Presbyterian along with a ton of dedicated volunteers to make this happen each week!

We are humbled to report that our Bridge to Home shelter is now at capacity with all 70 rooms filled, providing a safe and supportive environment for the families in our community experiencing homelessness. Additionally, we’re excited to announce the launch of our children’s summer programming, “Summer Safari”, designed to nurture reading skills and foster fun learning during the summer break. We remain committed to the wellbeing of every member of our community and are grateful for your ongoing support that makes these initiatives possible.

Summer break is just a few weeks away, and FPTV staff and volunteers are working hard to provide exciting and educational opportunities for all the children at Bridge to Home, similar to those enjoyed during spring break. One resident described the spring break experience as "absolutely amazing," noting it was "such a wonderful week for children and adults." Another resident appreciated the daily activities, saying, "It was so good to know there was an activity every day to break up the break. Thank you so much for planning all of this. With limited space in the rooms, cabin fever is real, and the activities helped."

Thanks to all our supporters who made the fabulous spring break programming possible! We are now asking our community supporters to join us once again by volunteering or financially sponsoring an activity for the youth at Bridge to Home. From providing bubbles, popsicles, and sidewalk chalk to volunteering for our Summer Olympics Day, your participation can bring joy to a child.

In our recent celebration of Mother’s Day, children were provided the opportunity to personalize greeting cards and craft tissue paper flower arrangements for their mothers or the caring adult who serves as their mother figure. Many thanks to Nancy Scott, the Lake Oswego Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Wilsonville Seminary Class, and our fabulous Coco Club volunteers who made this celebration possible. In addition to showering their mothers with love, many children also made cards and flower arrangements for the volunteers who give tirelessly. The project brought smiles and even a few tears of joy from moms and volunteers alike.

Consider joining our dedicated team of volunteers! You will work hand-in-hand with our staff to help program families regain sustainable independence.
