Milpitas High School's STEMGirls club members were featured in this video reading of Resolution 2024.28 Recognizing and Honoring March as National Women's History Month, which was unanimously adopted by the MUSD Board of Education at the March 12 meeting.

MUSD educators bring computers, engineering

to Latina students


MUSD educators Clarissa Bonner, Cecilia Carrillo, Darshana Daquigan, Mary Paek and Michael Sommese were honored for their work in promoting Latina girls seeing themselves in Engineering, computers and the sciences.

MHS wrestling team raises bar in 2024


Milpitas High School's wrestling team was recognized for being tremendous student-athletes and competing in regional and state tournaments under coach Roberto Clemente. MHS won the overall dual meet championship and El Camino portion of the league tournament, where they qualified a 11 boys and 7 girls for the CCS NorCal Regionals and 4 boys and 7 girls for the CCS Masters meet.

MHS boys soccer team has historic season


Milpitas High School's boys soccer team was honored for being amazing student-athletes and qualifying for the Central Coast Section Playoffs for the first time in 14 years under coach James Williams. As the No. 4 seed in the Division V CCS Playoffs, the MHS Trojans defeated Latino College Prep 2-1 in overtime to advance to the CCS Semifinal Round where their playoff run ended in a 1-0 loss to eventual champion Stevenson.



SRO Asefi ensures safety of students, staff

School Resource Officer Mostafa Asefi, in his third year as the SRO, was honored for continuing to ensure safety and build relationships with students and staff.

MUSD students help beautify Burnett campus

MUSD students Braelynn Dawson, Vera Loui, Akshat Singh and Audrey Loui were recognized for volunteer work at Burnett Elementary School. 3 MHS students (2 of whom are Burnett alumni) and 1 Burnett student worked through record high temperatures to repaint Burnett's wall ball courts.

Randall reports on test scores, enrollment and programming

As part of our continuous improvement cycles and collaboration with the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), the Randall World Languages School, led by co-Principals Claudia Cadenas and Kristan Prolo, provided an update on enrollment and curriculum programming at the open enrollment, world languages school.

Superintendent Jordan shares State of District update

At the March 12, 2024 meeting, Superintendent Cheryl Jordan shared Attendance Rates, accolades for Thomas Russell Middle School (2024 Calif. Distinguished School) and Calaveras Hills High School (2024 Model Continuations HS), and a $2 million grant, attained by MHS Principal Greg Wohlman and Educator Andrea Hutchison, for the MHS Innovation Campus Extension.

MUSD receives positive financial certification for

2023-24 2nd Interim Report

Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Wendy Zhang provided the 2023-24 Second Interim Report and received unanimous Board approval to submit a positive financial certification to the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

MUSD Board adopts new governance handbook

The Board of Education developed, reviewed and revised the 2024 MUSD "Building A Culture of WE" Governance Handbook over the last few months and adopted the final version.


Additionally, the Board updated its Board Group Agreements to strengthen their commitment to the MUSD community.

The Board of Education approved the following education items at the March 12, 2024 board meeting:

  • Certify the 2023-2024 compensation disclosure of California School Employees Association (CSEA), Chapter 281 Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Approve Tentative Agreement between MUSD and the California School Employees Association (CSEA) and its Chapter 281
  • Resolution 2024.26 Conduct a public hearing and adoption of statutory School Facilities
  • Resolution 2024.27 Urgency Measure Resolution implementing new School Facilities (Developer) Fees
  • Approve Community Board Advisory Council (CBAC) Board Appointee for March 2024-October 2025 [Noreen Kinochi]
