PTSA NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

With the midterm election behind us, I wanted to mention that young adults 18–20 voted in record numbers that we have not seen in over 30 years. I would like to mention that I think part of this is due to teaching our students high school civics courses at BSD schools and also some parent modeling. By teaching a course that shows the real outcomes of voting, students get excited about their ability to make a difference. I applaud the district, teachers, and parents for encouraging their students to vote when they come of age. I think it bodes well for our future.

Thank you,

P. S. Please remember to renew your membership this week. Our goal of 100% = strong community.
HAVE YOU RENEWED YET?

Dear IS families, we are working on a big push before Thanksgiving Break for membership renewals. Two families to join every day will help us reach our goal of 100% membership, meaning every IS student will be supported by an ISPTSA member!

Please sign in to renew OR click here to join today and help us reach this goal by December 15! Questions? Email Honglian Gao, Membership Chair.
HIGH SCHOOL PANEL

TODAY, November 21, 6:30–8 PM

Bellevue Gifted Alliance (BGA) is hosting a High School Student panel to help students choose a high school. Please attend (with students). You will have an opportunity to hear and ask questions to students at Interlake, Newport, Bellevue, Sammamish, or the choice schools. We typically hear from students:
  • What were the deciding factors in choosing their high school?
  • What activities did you do in high school?
  • Why did you choose your school?
  • What do you like best? What don't you like?
  • What do you wish someone would have told you about high school?

Donations of $10 are requested. Questions? Email BGA.
THANKSGIVING STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCH
