Our grant program is integral to our commitment to the men and women of the Seattle Police Department. It’s an incredible opportunity to hear straight from the people doing this work every day on ways we can help improve public safety in Seattle. Offering funding through a competitive grants process empowers SPD officers and staff, allowing them to activate meaningful projects and programs that improve officer safety, grow community enrichment, and spark innovation.

Our grant program helps bridge the crucial gap between what the City of Seattle can fund for the Seattle Police Department and what it cannot.

Currently, we have approximately $100,000 in unfunded grants. With your support, we can help bring these and other ideas to life:

  • 80-hour immersive Spanish course for Bicycle Unit – this grant would help Bicycle Unit officers learn conversational Spanish to better serve our diverse community
  • Porta-Grazers for Mounted Patrol Unit Police Horses – this grant would provide six specialized feeders designed to accommodate natural, head-down grazing
  • Courageous Kids Lion Program – this grant provides plush lions and certificates of courage for SPD Community Service Officers to hand out to youth impacted by abuse and trauma
