What is Kidznotes all about? It’s a big question with a simple answer: Kidznotes is about transforming lives through music.

We believe Music Matters. That’s why we’re committed to offering accessible programming for even more students in 2024-2025.

We’re thrilled to announce our intention to further expand programming in the coming school year. Our goal is to welcome an additional 100 students in Durham County.

We’re deeply committed to this plan for growth, but we can’t do it alone — we need your help to make this expansion a reality.

Meet our Teaching Artists who work for Durham Public Schools

Mike Truzy loves serving the Durham community. This is his 13th year as a Kidznotes Teaching Artist for Mozart students and his 18th year with Durham Public Schools. He first began as the Durham School of the Arts choral director and currently serves as the music specialist at Eastway Elementary. Read Mike's Full Bio Here

Tokay Allen is a National Board Certified Teacher for Durham Public Schools at Spring Valley Elementary with 24 years of teaching experience. She was born and raised in Durham NC, and attended North Carolina Central University. This is her 2nd year back at Kidznotes after initially joining our founding year!
