We Are the Church!

Brandi Hatch recently joined Mellody in the church garden. They did a major clean up. Mellody has also recently planted bulbs that came from Pat Chamber's garden before she moved to Kirkwood Orange.

We are so grateful to Mellody and Brandi and all the members who offer time and talent to keep up our church. If you would like to follow their example and lend a hand in our garden (or with some other maintenance or clean up task around the church) see Mellody. She is in the process of compiling a list.

Discernment Journey

Storytelling Gathering - December 8

This will be a fun storytelling gathering where we remember the history of our church and our own personal experiences. A light lunch will be provided.

THIS SUNDAY

A Service of Hanging of the Greens.

During worship we will delight in the meaning of our traditional Advent and Christmas decorations as we begin to put them up in the sanctuary. Following worship we invite everyone to stay and help us finish decking the halls of our church.

A light lunch will be provided for those who remain to help [lunch at the church will replace the Lunch Bunch outing this month].

We pray that these symbols of the season that signal our Christmas preparations will also remind us of our need to prepare our hearts as well.

Upcoming Events

Upcoming Worship Series:

Angels Among Us: #DoNotBeAfraid

The angels that appear in the story of Jesus’ birth would have been very comfortable in our world of social media and hashtags. Their messages were often short and to the point — their favorite line being #DoNotBeAfraid. This Advent we will look at the stories of these winged messengers to Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the Shepherds and their reactions to them, we will contemplate what messages we can offer that will counteract a culture of fear and bring #morehope, #morepeace, #morejoy, and #morelove and ultimately #morelight to the world.

Gathering of Spirits - Canceled for December

Join us at 5:45 pm at Windsor Browns for a time when our spirits encounter God’s Spirit in spirited discussion on wide ranging topics.

Sunday Lunch Bunch - Canceled for December

Giving

It's not too late!! Please consider making a special donation toward Per Capita for 2024.

As part of a connectional church we pay per capita apportionment per member to support the work of the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This year the amount is $40.65 and will be divided between Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC (USA)'s system of government, so every Presbyterian is asked to share the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system. Please consider making this special offering, You may add it to your regular offering, but please make a note that the donation includes an offering to per capita.

Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not regretfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
