Barker Elementary Donates Food to Elks Lodge

Barker Elementary School students collected 500 cans of food and 200 boxes of dried food to donate to the Elks Lodge. Kudos to the Student Council who developed the idea after the school highlighted the character trait of caring in November. The Elks team was happy to collect the donation during an assembly and will put together baskets of food for families in need. The school also recognized its Students of the Month! We love seeing our wonderful scholars making a positive impact in their community!

Misha Spreads Smiles at Stanley Elementary

Students Shine in Showcase of the Bands

GGUSD Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Feast

Kudos to all involved in organizing the annual Thanksgiving Feast hosted at Bell Intermediate School by GGUSD Special Education students and staff. This is always a wonderful event that showcases the abilities of students with special needs and honors their families just before the Thanksgiving recess.

Paine Prepares for Thanksgiving with Turkey Trot

Paine Elementary School's annual Turkey Trot has grown to be a treasured event for students and their families. The school community enjoyed the fun-run which featured music, exercise and healthy snacks. It was great to see GGUSD Board of Education President Bob Harden enjoying the day with students and their families!


GGUSD Receives Grant for Healthy Eating Initiatives

The Los Angeles Chargers and Dairy Council of California teamed up to present GGUSD with a $10,000 Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grant to support the district’s healthy eating initiatives. The oversized check was presented to Board of Education Trustee Teri Rocco and GGUSD Food Services Director Agnes Lally during an exciting Mobile Dairy assembly at Evans Elementary School recently. While Evans students and staff were excited for the Mobile Dairy Classroom assembly featuring Jersey cow Cinnamon, the energy amplified with an appearance from Chargers long snapper #47 Josh Harris, who spoke to the students about the importance of healthy eating and exercise
