Administrative Code Webinar Series


On May 29, 2024, the Department presented the first in a two-part series of the Philadelphia Administrative Code. During this session, L&I reviewed the origin and limits of associated laws and provided an overview of the permit requirements and permit issuance outlined in Chapters 1-3 of the Philadelphia Administrative Code. The slides used during this webinar are posted on the website.


The second webinar will include a review of the Department’s administration of the technical codes. During this session, we will review Chapters 4-11 of the Philadelphia Administrative Code, including inspection requirements, fees, and work site safety. This session will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. Please register if you are interested in attending this information session.

Zoning Webinar Series


In the last few months, the Department presented four webinars in a six-part series focused on the Zoning Code. The slides used during these webinars are posted on the website.


The fifth webinar of the series will cover changes to zoning permits. We will cover different ways to make minor changes to issued zoning permits and detail the process of applying for Administrative Reviews and Amended Zoning Permits. This session will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please register if you are interested in attending this webinar.

Rental license Renewal Process Webinar


L&I will be offering a 1-hour webinar to provide an overview on the rental license renewal process and new license application information.

The Landlord Gateway Program centralizes resources to help both current and prospective landlords navigate the City’s processes, requirements and guidance through a single location. To help educate landlords and renters through these processes, the city is providing a landlord gateway education training series each month.

Reminders

2018 Philadelphia Plumbing Code Amendments 


The Plumbing Code amendments adopted under Bill No. 230653 apply to all plumbing permit applications filed on or after April 1, 2024. Refer to Title 4 - Subcode P on the American Legal website for current laws and the 2024 Plumbing Code Changes FAQ for a summary of the recent changes. Updates to the 2018 IPC hosted on the ICC website are underway.

Free OSHA Safety Consultation

 

Employers can receive no-cost safety, health and industrial hygiene evaluations by signing up for a program run by IUP’s Safety Sciences Department.



Through the PA OSHA Consultation Program, IUP consultants conduct occupational safety and health evaluations and work with business owners to address issues. The on-site visits are confidential since the program operates independently from OSHA's regulation enforcement.
