GOODYEAR announced it is partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for the 12th consecutive year in support of the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation at the company’s airship bases in California, Florida, and Ohio. . . MACK TRUCKS donated $100,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to create a matching fund for Giving Tuesday. . . Customers can monitor, manage and renew their PETERBILT SMARTLINQ and KENWORTH TRUCKTECH+ subscriptions through the PACCAR SOLUTIONS portal. . . KARMACK INC. announced the acquisition of Truckmore to bolster its digital product portfolio that includes a mobile app focused on heavy-duty truck dealerships, parts, rental, leasing and logistics providers. . .  VOLVO GROUP NORTH AMERICA will develop a public charging hub and deploy electric trucks in the Bronx as part of a $10 million award through the New York Clean Transportation Prizes program. . . DAIMLER TRUCK FINANCIAL SERVICES partnered with High Definition Vehicle Insurance to offer Dynamic Insurance, a solution that gives fleets the power to reduce their rates while promoting safe driving. . . PACLEASE is adding more new trucks to its leasing fleet to continue helping companies while also providing packages that are specifically created to meet the demands of each customer. . . BESTPASS is continuing its evolution into a payment processing platform with the acquisition of ExpressTruckTax to help fleets simplify the payment process and identify opportunities for training for fleet employees who receive multiple citations.

JONATHAN RANDALL was named president of Mack Trucks North America. . . Karmak CEO JIM ALLEN recently spoke at a Veterans Day event with his 'Freedom Truck'. . . Volvo Group announced that GREG HIGGINS has been named senior vice-president of legal and compliance, general counsel, and secretary for Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks. . . Daimler Truck North America named two new sales executives who will oversee the Canadian market: GLEN WHITE has been named vice-president of Canadian on-highway sales and ALLISON ATHEY has been appointed vice-president of Canadian vocational sales and also named JOANNA BUTTLER as head of its global autonomous technology group.

NUMBERS

U.S. trailer orders for October 2022 surged to 44,000, according to one trucking industry data firm, and above 47,000, according to another, as they rose far above September 2022 levels and 2021 numbers. FULL STORY
