Hello Student Community!
What a wonderful experience it was to share the W289 campus visit with our second-year students! Thank you for making the trip- from both near and far! Not only did we have the opportunity to connect with each other as a program, it was such a delight to see you in lively discussion in your small groups, during breaks, and between sessions. Our hope is that you came away with negotiation skills and ethical frameworks- so vital to our work in community- to add to your ever growing public health toolbox and collective efforts to promote health equity.
We are super excited to welcome our first-year students on campus at the end of the month! I know I am eager to meet you all since our time together in W200G! We have a range of leadership workshops planned for our time together with presenters who come from different fields to offer various ways of understanding what leadership can look like and thoughtful approaches to starting with ourselves.
Welcome to our Fall 2024 Cohort! We got a peek into who you are through your applications, which we appreciate take an immense amount of time to pull together. We can’t wait to see you at the New Student Orientation and Concentration sessions in early July. Most of all we look forward to learning more about your public health interests and passions and learning with you in our courses starting this fall. I look forward to welcoming you in Health and Social Behavior. Thank you again for not only choosing us, but also for choosing public health!
Warmly,
Evan
