Thirteen NCJW Kendall Section members attended an informative and inspirational JCS Kosher Food Bank tour, learning what a terrific resource JCS of South Florida is for our community. This agency is truly our community safety net. They address mental health, counseling, nutritional support and case management to name a few. The primary services, (or mitzvahs) are the kosher food bank, shalom bayit (domestic abuse assistance program), senior services, Holocaust Survivor assistance program and refugee assistance program.
As of January 2017, JCS of South Florida assumed the operations of the Switchboard of Miami programs, which provides information and assistance for basic needs such as food insecurity, housing and shelter, legal assistance, clothing, and other free or low-cost resources. As Diane Tannenbaum said, “This organization truly exemplifies the meaning of Tzeduka!!”
Please join us in our Passover collection for the JCS Kosher Food Bank.
