Come and listen to our wonderful HPHS choirs perform for the last time this year on Monday, May 15th, at 7pm. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our students and, especially, the graduating Seniors.

Immigrant Voices students Talia Newman, Orlando Huwe, Gabrielle Levenson, and Lily Grossmann have created a website to address the topic of the Portrayal of Immigration in the Music Industry. They would love for you to use this link to check out their work, and provide them with feedback about what you learned.


A special congratulations to Ari Glassberg for winning Best In Show with her ceramics artwork at the Northern Illinois Art Exhibition. Check out this link to see and congratulate all of the featured artists who had artwork selected for this prestigious show!


Save the Date - Thursday, May 11 during lunch periods! If you have turned 18, you can register to vote @ HPHS! The League of Women Voters will be here to register all students who have turned 18 since November elections! To register, bring two forms of identification. One piece of identification, such as a driver’s license, must show name and current address.See the TV's in school for more information!


Save the Date! Seniors last day is May 15th. We will be celebrating with a spring BBQ, available to all students, during lunch periods. Next week we will announce more about how you can purchase a hamburger or hotdog for lunch!


HPHS is now accepting 2024 Charity Drive applications! If you know of a charity that has a local connection and is child-oriented, please share this link to apply! Two great Senior (Class of 2023) activities are now accepting registrations for participation! Please sign up ASAP!!

  • After Prom: May 20-21, 11:30 - 2:30 AM, HP Rec Center, seniors do not need to attend Prom to attend this event. After Prom registration is not included with a Prom ticket purchase - please register separately.
  • Use this link to register - FREE to attend, get off the bus from Prom and have fun! 
  • Deadline to register is May 5. 
  • This FREE event at the Recreation Center of Highland Park is open to Prom attendees and ALL HP Seniors—you do not need to attend prom to come to the after-party. From 11:30pm-2:30am on May 20, enjoy casual late night fun with inflatables, casino games, and the chance to win a big screen TV. Students attending Prom may bring a change of clothes for the event and check in a bag before boarding the bus. Please plan on arriving a little earlier for bag check and labeling.
  • Grad Night: May 23-24, 10:00 PM - 3:00 AM
  • Use this link to register - $50 to attend, Free Book program is $15 to attend, student will have code.
  • Deadline to register is May 13.
  • The HPHS PTO is planning a safe, supervised, substance-free, all-night party for every graduating senior. This night will be a memorable, fun-filled opportunity for the entire class to be together before they go their separate ways. It is not a date night, and dress is casual. Buses will leave late enough in the evening to allow time for family celebrations. Plan for your graduate to be a part of the send-off and last HPHS hurrah for the class of 2023!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the HP Math Team for competing and placing 10TH OVERALL at the ICTM State Competition last Saturday!! The Algebra I Team placed 6th, the Geometry Team placed 8th, the Algebra II Team placed 6th place, and the Precalculus Team placed 6th! A special congratulations to Dylan Dominguez for placing 8th Individual in the Geometry contest. Way to go, HP Mathletes!!

Athletics

CSL Inclusivity Workshop

The Central Suburban League has been working on developing the Building A More Inclusive CSL Workshop to help CSL student-athletes and coaches become more inclusive leaders within their teams, schools and communities. The first in-person workshop was this past Monday, April 24 at Maine South High School and approximately 80 individuals from all 12 CSL schools were in attendance. Four of our HPHS student-athletes joined Coach Boilini and Coach Harris at the event. Thanks to Angel de Jesus Riano, Avie Housholder, Margo Lewis and Mark Martinez for participating and representing our school “The HP Way”.

Giant Leaders

Last week we invited three of our recent HPHS Athletic Hall of Fame inductees to HPHS. Davy Lindquist, Scott Smith and Beth Weinstein shared words of wisdom with our Giant Leaders Group, including who has inspired and supported their success. It was a very special day for everyone involved.



MAY 3rd Boys Volleyball: all teams will be playing Deerfield here at HPHS. JV and Frosh/Soph play at 5:00pm and Varsity will play at 6:00pm in the Giant Gym. Varsity will also be celebrating our Senior Night and honoring our 9 seniors in the program before the Varsity match begins! Please come out to support the teams!

Community Opportunities

All proceeds will be donated to the Highland Park Schools thru the District 112 Education Foundation, District 113 Education Foundation, and Giants Helping Giants Fund.
