June 13, 2024 - Bike Blessing! | |
Dear Friends in Christ,
I got a new electric bike for my birthday and I love it. It weighs 65 pounds but it goes 28mph which makes me feel like a friendly little freight train. I bolted a milk crate to the back, and I've been hauling groceries, hardware, party supplies, and anything else I can think of. I've never been more tempted to buy a small dog.
If anyone could use a special blessing, it's me! This week, after the 9:30am service, bring your bike or trike, scooter or skateboard. Since it rains almost every day now, now we'll do it whatever the weather.
And if you cannot be there, receive this blessing wherever you are!
May God bless you and keep you safe on this bicycle [scooter, etc.].
May you encounter the risen Lord in your travels,
in the freedom of the open road,
in the fellowship of other bikers and in each person you meet.
May the Lord be in front and behind,
as you grind up the hill and hurtle down into the valley.
May God’s mercy, grace and love shine upon you
and your safety reflectors, now and forever. Amen.
With Peace and Hope,
Seth+

Attention Parents:
Outdoor Wiggle Area for the Summer Outdoor Services
See the full Summer Calendar Here
For all summer services, there will be an outdoor quiet play area specifically designed for families with children who need more space to move around during the service. Out of respect for other families and congregants, please supervise your children and support them in making quiet and cooperative choices!
Sometimes this area may be unstaffed, but on many occasions, one or two of our former nursery workers will be available to assist as parent helpers. They can supervise and occupy children in the wiggle area so that you can focus more fully on the service!
Due to the nature of this set-up, please note a few limits to these parent helpers:
- If you’d like parent helpers to supervise your child for the entirety of the service, please formally drop off and pick up your child in this area. Let parent helpers know where you’ll be sitting in case they need to contact you.
- If your child comes into the wiggle area unaccompanied, parent helpers will assume your child is allowed to leave the area unaccompanied. Unless you have specifically requested that the parent helpers supervise your child, you as the parent/guardian are ultimately responsible for your child.
- Parent helpers cannot change diapers, bring children to the restroom, or escort children anywhere out of the garden area.
- While they will make good faith efforts to console and redirect, parent helpers reserve the right to request your help with or send back children who are continuously disruptive, inconsolably crying, or in any other way having a difficult time using this area in a reasonably calm and quiet way. You are welcome to sit near or in the wiggle area at any time to support your child.
-
Thank you! Contact Bailey Steger if you have any questions!
