Christmas Day Service

Around the Parish

Sunday 11/27 is the first Sunday of Advent we will have our usual Sunday happenings plus an Advent lunch gathering immediately following the 10:30 service. Lunch will consist of chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, chips/beverage. We are going to have cookie decorating for the kids!! If you would like to help, please sign-up. Advent wreath supplies will be available but limited. The younger children will begin an Advent project that they will add to each Sunday of Advent.

A huge thank you to those who helped with our youth spaghetti dinner! The turnout was awesome and our youth were able to make an amazing $554 towards upcoming community service projects. It was a fun night!

Advent Special on Stained Glass Window Ornaments! Both the Healing and Teaching stained glass ornaments will be $20 during Advent. They are copies of the two windows in the back left side of the nave. Each comes boxed with a ribbon for hanging and a card with the scripture reference. “He began to teach them many things” - Mark 6:34 The teaching window was given to the glory of God in honor of Girdler and Estella Fitch and Hampton and Judy Jerrell. “Your faith has made you well” - Luke 8:45-48 The healing window was given to the glory of God in memory of Temperance Glenn Young Conley. These ornaments would make meaningful gifts for any teacher or health care provider contact Sally Morrell

The Outreach Committee is looking for a couple of fresh perspectives to add to their circle in the coming year. The Outreach Committee is the group that works specifically on identifying, funding, and facilitating our work in the world as the Body of Christ. They are currently meeting 4-6 times per year to to apportion the allocation from the Statement of Mission (parish budget) for Direct Outreach each year, to find new and innovative ways to serve those in need in our community, and to continue Holy Trinity's strong tradition of participating on the boards and as volunteers with several iconic agencies in the area. If you have a strong commitment to follow the commandment from Matthew 25 to take care of the needs of our neighbors, this is an opportunity to help in real and significant ways. If you would like to learn more, please contact Rachel Mayo (rmayo@clemson.edu) or Rachel Rowe (rchlrw@gmail.com).

Reminder sign up here if you have a child 4th grade and up interested in serving as an acolyte or a reader.

**Make note; Our December 4th youth event has been cancelled. We will focus on our December 11th Christmas service project, details will be sent out next week.

Ongoing Items

Appeal for Funds for St. Paul’s Renovation & Painting Project 200th anniversary! St. Paul’s is now in dire need of a major renovation to its exterior, and we are seeking financial contributions to fund this effort.  We have been quoted $140,000 for the entire job and we are seeking grants and diocesan assistance, but any contributions would be greatly appreciated and much-needed. Checks may be made out to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with St. Paul’s Renovation in the memo line. If you would like additional information, please contact Mtr. Suz Cate or Mary Lou Sigsby, chairperson for the St. Paul’s Committee of Holy Trinity.

Breakfast Team Members Needed! Breakfast Teams prepare, serve, and clean up after our weekly Sunday breakfasts. Each team serves once a month during the school year. There are four established teams who could use another set of hands. Team cooking is tons of fun and a great way to get to know your HT friends better. Please contact Bill Purkerson or Vanessa Apicello in the church office if you would be interested in joining a team or just checking it out one Sunday.
